This is an outdoor and culinary trail around the 4 breweries of Kamnik, the town with the most craft breweries per capita in the world. You will taste craft beers of 4 Kamnik's microbreweries and have 3 delicious dishes, all while enjoying walking around the great outdoors of the Slovene Alpine area. You will get to look inside 1 brewery.
The tour has been certified and recommended by Slovenian Tourist Board as "Slovenia Unique Experience". It is a guided tour combining stories, legends and myths of beer and freedom in Kamnik, a medieval town just below the Alps. During a hike through the town's historical center, forests, fields and along the river we see all the 4 beer ingredients and we stop to taste cca. 15 samples of local craft beer along with delicious dishes, such as burgers, pizzas and sausages. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, too.

You will visit the city centre with all main attractions: main square, old square, famous viewpoint from Mali grad chapel, historic Šutna street, Zaprice castle from outside, town park.

5.00Excelent mixture of historical sightseeing, easy walking for a few hours and beer tasting at local craft breweries. We started in the center of Kamnik, walked around the Mali grad castle, stopped for a snack and a beer. This was followed by a tour of Kamnik and another Zaprica castle. We continued with a longer walk to the next settlement. Snack and beer with entertainment along with cute cards with questions about the history and production of beer. We returned to Kamnik and stayed the longest at the last brewer. Excellent guide, good company, friendly brewer hosts.

5.00The tour is well organised and very enjoyable, it lasts just the right amount of time and the beers offered for tasting are good and many! Our guide was very thorough and told us a few details about the town and the various places we visited. My friend and I had a great time!

5.00Excellent discovery between nature and tasting. In a cheerful Mood! The medieval town of Kamnik is beautiful. The surrounding forests as well, and the tasting stages are varied and of good quality. The tour was held in Slovenian, but the guide speaks perfect English and French, which allowed me to follow easily. I had a great time around Kamnik.

5.00We spent a great day with friends, with good food and excellent homemede beer. Kamnik is a really beautiful old town with many interesting old stories, presented to us by great guide Ksenija. The best is saved for the end, the tour of the Maister brewery, when we had such a good time that we soon forgot to go home :) definitely we will come again

5.00A great day with delicious food and excellent Kamnik beers. We tried 10 beers from four local brewers, slowly throughout the day. The tour started in the city center and continued through beautiful old town Kamnik. Along the way we walked through the beautiful nature, had fun playing games and got to know the Kamnik brewers. Beer way is really great for team buildings or if you want to celebrate your birthday in a slightly different way. We were with friends and we all agree that we will do this tour soon again.

5.00I love that the tour combines sightseeing, culinary and sports activity. Walking around is a great way to explore historic Kamnik, its beautiful surroundings and meet other people on the tour (if you don't know them yet). The tour is around 10 km long (if i remember correctly), but not difficult to walk. We took our 2 years old daughter with us and she was able to walk some parts alone. When she got tired, we carried here with child carrier, which was also not a problem. Even though the tour is about discovering and tasting craft beers, you can enjoy it with your kids, as long as you know when to stop drinking. ;) Food and craft beers were delicious. You can also get vegetarian food on the tour, but i recommend you to inform Beer way organisers about your wish when you book the tour. If you decide to take the tour on a hot sunny day, don't forget to pack something for sun protection (sun cream, a hat) and something non-alcoholic to drink.

5.00Long story short, the tour was a fantastic experience. Kamnik is a beautiful town with very kind people, beautiful streets, nice views and very good breweries. Ksenija (sorry if I wrote the name wrong) was a very well-prepared tour guide and made our day unforgettable. All of the breweries we visited during the tour produce different styles of ales and lagers. I had the chance to meet and talk with the master brewers about their production methods, hops and beer culture in Kamnik and Slovenia. Since the tour has a very good schedule, we did not notice how the time passed. Highly recommended activity to walk around Kamnik, drink good beer and meeting warm people.
