The opportunity to experience a tour of a lifetime.
Understanding Belfast's troubled history with a honestly presented political tour by Republican and Loyalist ex-political prisoners. Discover a side of Belfast you won't find in the Tourist books, We invite you to walk the streets of the city on both sides of the Peace Wall with the men and women who have served time in prisons of Northern Ireland for standing up for their beliefs. Unfortunately due to time constraints I could only attend the first half of this tour. But the 90mins with Paedar Whelan as our guide was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on (and I have been on over thirty different walking tours in the last 15 years). Paedar is the perfect guide. He spent 16 years as a political prisoner and is so knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. He knew Bobby Sands. He is also hilarious. Go on this tour, you will be glad you did. Thank you Paedar!

This was such a unique and fascinating experience. The two guides were knowledgeable and gave good insights into all sides of the conflict from their direct experience. Although booked through Yellow Umbrella, the tour was actually executed by a well-known group in Belfast providing political tours, Coiste Political Tours, who work with great guides and are very experienced in this work.

This was a fascinating experience, being able to hear both sides of the conflict was very sobering and at times challenging. A must do for anyone who wants to understand the history of Northern Ireland. Peadar and Jake were excellent guides.

If you are in Belfast and want some context as to where you are, this tour is a must. Robert is so engaging. A great way to spend an afternoon and a great way to get your mind moving about the struggle in Northern Ireland.

The guides explained their experience and the history of the troubles in a way that was both informative and meaningful. I would recommend to anyone interested in learning about the troubles.

Very educational walking tour with both sides of the Wall views. And the views are slightly different due to casualties of innocent on both sides. Catholics/IRA vs Protestant/UVA w/British Support. Unique offenses in Wall Art/Murals on both sides too. Worth the 3 hour walk to hear Both Sides!

Extremely interesting and thought provoking presentations by the 2 tour guides who were actively engaged in the troubles on either side. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent opportunity to listen to both sides of the conflict with two genuine and passionate guides, sobering stories, and walls and murals that speak for themselves. It is long so I would recommend taking an umbrella, a sandwich and being wide awake.

At Divis tower received by Robert (best from the west). A friendly man who personally shook hands with all candidates and showed genuine interest. Spoke calmly and clearly. Would have liked to walk a whole route with him. Person who received us for the second part spoke a lot less softly. Only half caught on to it. I thought this was partly a pity, but had already walked quite a bit that day and didn't feel like trying to do this. Both men were friendly. There are still many details visible from the past on both sides.
