The opportunity to experience a tour of a lifetime.
Understanding Belfast's troubled history with a honestly presented political tour by Republican and Loyalist ex-political prisoners. Discover a side of Belfast you won't find in the Tourist books, We invite you to walk the streets of the city on both sides of the Peace Wall with the men and women who have served time in prisons of Northern Ireland for standing up for their beliefs. Republican and Loyalist ex-prisoners will share their own personal stories and the effects on their communities and explain the murals that tell the local history and culture of each area. The only tour to give you two truly opposing views of 'The Troubles' through the streets of West Belfast. Divided into two different halves, completely different views from each side. A bit of history knowledge before you go would help.

Very heavy tour with so much information. Hard to see a solution for peace. If you want both sides of the story, this is it.

Barbara and Cheryl - take a bow. Our guides were so interesting, telling us about factual stories with personal interludes, some of which were gripping but tragic. The term 'Conflicting Stories' was only too true - hearing two sides of the same story but from very different angles. With these two ladies there must be hope that attitudes will change on both sides, but from what we saw (and heard) that seems disappointing far away at the current time. Both guides were refreshingly open when answering questions. Would happily recommend this tour to anyone. It is a real eye opener.

Impressive tour of Belfast's Catholic and Protestant Quarter. By 2 ladies who grew up here during the time of the Troubles.

This was, without question, our favorite experience during our Ireland and Northern Ireland trip. The guides were local residents who shared not only the history of their community but also their own families’ experiences, offering perspectives that were authentic, personal, and deeply moving. We had read about the Troubles before arriving, but this tour made that history come alive in a way that books never could. Walking through the streets of this quarter of Belfast, hearing firsthand accounts of how the conflict shaped daily life, generations of families, and the community itself, gave us a profound appreciation for its lasting impact. What struck us most was the sense of presence—the feeling that history is not just something that happened in the past, but something that still lingers in the murals, the neighborhoods, and the stories of the people who live there today. It was an eye-opening, powerful, and unforgettable experience.

This was the highlight of our trip! It was fascinating to hear the perspectives of both guides and their involvement in The Troubles. I would highly recommend it!

The Nationalist part of the tour was better than the Union side. Not enough information on Union side just moving from one memorial to the dead to another.

Excellent way to hear first hand experience from a Republican on Falls Rd and a Loyalist on Shankhill Rd. Very thought provoking and highly recommend. Anne Marie was brilliant as our Republican guide.
