I booked this as a surprise for my partner and it was so much fun. We were part of a small, intimate group of 4. Estella was fabulous and everything she said was translated for us non-Spanish speakers. You try so many fruits, veggies and local dishes so be prepared for this. Food prepared was a mix of seafood, pork and veggies. So many textures to try. The cooking itself was around 2 hours with 1 hour to enjoy your dishes. Value for money was food however, book direct if you can.

My husband and I got tickets for this experience to celebrate our honeymoon. We had so much fun in San Pedro, Belize; however we did agree that of the excursions this was our favorite! Our chef was incredibly sweet, our translator was so hospitable, all food was fresh, everyone practiced the cleanliness standards which is super important for a group cooking class, and the food we made was chef’s kiss delicious! We so appreciated the knowledge & history of the food & it was nice to get to know other travelers. Quick tip, small phone/camera tripod that you can set up in front of you on the table or off to the side to see the entire group. It will be hard to continuously take photos & video throughout the experience because you will be so focused on the cooking, as you should be; and bring a neck fan if you are sensitive to the heat as it does get warm in the kitchen area. Don’t skip this experience, trust me! Fun & delicious!

Chef Oscar was awesome, we cooked, we learned, we ate! We started by making our own Ceviche (I made lobster ceviche, Rod made shrimp) both came out excellent (we ate every bite!) Then a little Belizean and Mayan food history, which was fascinating. Did you know the if you rub garlic on a mosquito bite it will stop itching? I didn't but we tried it...it really worked! The on to the main attraction, we made Pupusas. These flatten corn meal patties (like extra thick pancakes) with things baked inside. We made a meat one (with pork), a veggie one (mine was acorn squash and Rod's was spinach, the were amazing. But the best one? The dessert pupusa, we made them with banana and then covered them in chocolate syrup. WOW! They were amazing. We were so full when we left there, we took 1/2 of it back to the hotel. What a great experience, I would highly recommend it if you like to cook, learn about food, or just eat....it was worth it. Thank you Chef Oscar!

It was an amazing experience. Not sure what I was expecting but it far exceeded my expectations. They gave us different fruits to try and the stories behind them were great. The mom head cook was super sweet and her son did all the translating. I really enjoyed the food we cooked. Highly recommend this experience!!

We really enjoyed learning to cook Belizean dishes! The lady teaching us took a liking to my teenage son and made the experience truly fun for him. Everything was explained clearly, cleanliness was stressed and we got to try many tasty, exotic fruits as well as make 3 pupusas and ceviche. Definitely a fun, family activity!

Taking this cooking class was truly a great experience. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the ingredients and techniques, but also the cultural significance behind each dish. We prepared an amazing variety of traditional Belizean foods; ceviche, pupusas, fresh made juice, & a variety of local island fruits & vegetables. Everything was hands-on, fresh, and absolutely delicious. If you’re visiting Belize and want something more immersive than just eating out, I highly recommend this class. It’s the perfect blend of food, culture, and unforgettable memories.
