We'll begin the tour with a convenient pick-up from our office, located near the city center. From there, we'll make our way to Nina's house, located in the heart of Berat's historic castle. Upon arrival at Nina's house, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome from our local host and expert cook. The cooking class will begin with a brief introduction to the dishes we'll be preparing. You'll receive all the necessary ingredients and equipment, and our expert cook will guide you through each step of the process You'll have the opportunity to prepare two or three traditional Albanian dishes, depending on your preferences and availability. Some possible dishes include Stuffed Eggplants, Fërgesë (a traditional Albanian dish made with peppers, tomatoes, and cheese), After the cooking is done, it's time to sit down and enjoy the meal you've prepared! At Nina's, we take pride in providing a friendly, welcoming, and educational environment for our guests

5.00Simply amazing. The setting is beautiful. Nina, Vasili and Mikhail were exceptionally kind and engaging. If you visit Berat, you MUST take the cooking class with Nina.
Cook traditional Albanian food in Berat castle

5.00The cooking class was held in Mama Nina’s home in the grounds of Berat Castle. Usually they cook outside but because it was raining, we cooked in Mama Nina’s kitchen. Mama Nina and her friends were very welcoming and friendly. There were six people cooking in total and we all helped chopped the vegetables and cook the food. We made three dishes in total two vegetable dishes and some meatballs. We were given a glass of Raki when we arrived and a glass of wine with dinner. Overall, it was a really fun experience and we learned how to cook some traditional food. It was a nice atmosphere and we had fun talking to the other guests over dinner. Overall a great experience. The transport was also included from the meeting point in town so we were picked up and dropped off. Sadly, we didn’t see much of the castle so if you want to explore the castle grounds, perhaps go separately or go earlier.
