Enjoy a private guided tour of the extraordinary prehistoric sites of Wiltshire including Stonehenge and Avebury. All tours are by air conditioned car and include pick up from your local* hotel or arrival point. Full day (minimum 8 hours) or half day (minimum 5 hours) tours are available. Full day tours include visits to both Stonehenge and Avebury. West Kennet Long Barrow, Silbury Hill and Durrington Walls are also on route. Your expert local guide has a degree in archaeology and classical studies. As a local he knows the most scenic routes and the more hidden and unusual sites along the way. He also knows the best places to eat and drink including traditional English pubs and the best spots for a picnic lunch.

*local means local to the Stonehenge and Avebury area west of London. Local towns include Salisbury, Bath, Swindon and Marlborough. Pick ups outside of this area including London are possible but may bear an extra cost. Pick up and drop off points can differ to suit you.

Our guide Laurence was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable that made our trip so memorable. He customized our tour for our group of 6 to Stonehenge and Salisbury and was so informative. He deserves more than a five star. If you’re thinking of visiting the area definitely don’t hesitate to book with Laurence.

We had a great time on our tour. Considering public transportation is more difficult outside London it was well worth having a private tour and getting to choose the places we wanted to see in the area and he helped us pick a good hotel he could pick us up at and also dropped us off in a completely different town so we could get back to London quicker to catch the train to Paris. Laurence was super nice and knowledgeable about the area and even brought his own diagrams/pamphlets to help us understand the history and I felt like he had answers for all my questions. He even included some things I didnt even ask for (like a nice local restaurant for lunch, all the different locations/insight around Avebury etc). By far my favorite guide out of all the stuff I booked in England, France or Switzerland. He's 100% local and grew up in the area and I feel like that kind of insight is difficult to find in a sea of 1000s of pages of cheap audio tours or large groups that tend to just herd you to the next attraction and you end up feeling like a sheep. He also is a member to Stonehenge etc so he got us into the closer parking lot (where the big tour busses have to park further away) and we didnt have to wait in any lines. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants their time to be maximized and would appreciate a truly customized experience.

I’d give 6 stars if I could! Kerry was very knowledgeable about Stonehenge and Avebury, plus other facts during the drive. She was proactive in reaching out ahead of time to make sure we had our tickets and also suggested some sites to see in Bath, where she picked us up.
