We had such an amazing experience with Francis and his pilot. Francis was very knowledgeable and shared the history of El Salvador and the volcanoes. He was very supportive throughout the whole hike and we took a good amount of breaks so everyone can catch up. Great service, friendly, and driver made sure we got home safely! We highly recommend them for an incredible experience hiking Santa Ana Volcano! Oh and he also gave a good recommendation for lunch by the lake. He recommended the fried fish with shrimp. It was so good. Must try!

If you are able bodied and want to have an unforgettable experience in this small Central American country, this is the tour you need to do. The climb up the volcano is half the fun. And the views from above are awesome. Francis our guide took us up and down the volcano and provided us with the information about the tour itself as well as s bit of history and current progress of the country. Josue the driver also made the long drive to the sites and back to the hotel so smooth and safe.

Overall it was a fabulous experience and our guide, Josuè, was awesome. I wouldn’t recommend this for people who aren’t in good shape for hiking. You don’t want to be the person holding the group back. You should also make sure you have good shoes. The trail is rocky at times. The food at the restaurant afterwards was fine for the price. We had a group of 12 people and I enjoyed making some new friends. The bus was comfortable and well air conditioned.

I had a great experience on this tour overall. Josue was an excellent guide—very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. I really appreciated how he shared the history of El Salvador throughout the trip, which made the experience even more meaningful. The hike itself was moderately challenging, but definitely worth it. The views from the volcano were absolutely amazing and made the effort worthwhile. Also, Josue is top-tier when it comes to taking photos—he made sure everyone got great shots! My only complaint is about the scheduling. When I booked online, I selected a 7:00 AM pickup time. However, the night before, they sent a message saying pickup would be at 6:15 AM. Luckily, I happened to check my phone early that morning, but if I hadn’t, I would have missed the tour. I’ve seen other reviews mention this as well, so I’d recommend providing a clear time range upfront to avoid confusion. Overall, despite the scheduling issue, this was a great experience and I would still recommend this tour—especially with Josue as your guide.

I booked the hiking tour ilamatepec volcano with Diego Gomez as my tour guide. Diego was engang throughout the entire trip. During the pick-up and transport to the volcano, Diego was givinga background history of El Salvador, the culture, and whenever something was in sight, he always took the time give insight. Despite the traffic, I had a great time hearing his stories. What I appreciated about the hike was that Diego knew the plants and animals in the area and I learned many new things. And he is also a really good camera man, so you can show off to your friends that you have climbed one of the most active volcanoes in the world. I can only recommend this trip!

I had the pleasure of having Diego as my tour guide for the hike to ilamatepec. He was very engaging, and throughout the hike, he gave a presentation of the plants, trees, animals, history, geography, whenever we stumbled on them, which made the experience very insightful and learningful. I can only recommend this trip!
