Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
House of the Virgin Mary where mother of Jesus Christ spent her final years. Pope Paul VI visited the shrine in 1967, and 'unofficially' confirmed its authenticity. Pope John Paul II also visited the shrine in 1979. Pope Benedict XVI visited this shrine in 2006. While their visiting, they gave some gifts for this shrine that you can see during your visit.

5.00Our guide, Kadir, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great day out. As it was raining in the morning we started at Mary’s house followed by a visit to a carpet factory. It was interesting to see how these beautiful carpets are made and there was no hard sell. This was followed by a traditional lunch. After that we visited the highlight of the tour which was Ephesus. Although two of us had been there before, Kadir was able to point out things which we hadn’t been aware of previously and we had a wonderful tour. I would highly recommend Kadir.

The only thing we did not like so much was the tour of the rug making company. All though it was very neat to see, it definitely was a sales tactic for us to purchase a very expensive rug.

5.00Ephesus was one of the highlights of our trip! Everything was well organized. They were waiting for us as soon as we got off the boat. Our tour guide Fatima was the best and she knew her history and a little more! I liked how they worked around the crowds giving us time to see everything. They got us back to the boat with plenty of time to shop a little. The Turkish lunch was great and a surprised personal fashion show! Lots of fun.

5.00Our tour guided waited patiently for us despite our delay and attempted to accommodate our requests. On the start if the tour, we were welcomed with bottles of water which was so welcomed with that heat. We were so impressed by Necla"s historical knowledge. It was really good though out our tour to get the information. This will be so useful for my child and their history lessons. Necla was positive, smiley and also flexible in accommodating our market stops. It was an excellent tour run by a knowledgeable tour guide. You will be better off if she was your guide!

5.00Josh was absolutely incredible! This day was one of the highlights of our trip. Not only did we learn so much, but we bypassed crowds and had the chance to do hands on learning. The kids loved seeing Ephasus and also learning how to make Turkish rugs. Absolutely book! It was An amazing day!

5.00I must say we were so satisfied with the service provided by our tour guide Canan she was knowledgeable and provided so much history of Turkey. Wish we would have booked for more time . If in Turkey make sure you request her she provided info from restaurants, history and the cultural in Turkey. We visited so many historical places, she was well informed answer all questions.

5.00Our guide Filiz was amazing. She took the time to insure that we didn't miss a thing. She answered all our questions that were asked. She is very knowledgeable. Most memorable was our lunch. The food was great and the personnel were very attentive to us. I would do this tour again an highly recommend it to my friends and family. Filiz left a a great impression. Also our driver was courteous and our safety was his priority.
