What To Expect
Archaeological Park of Pompeii
The visit will start from Porta Marina, the sea gate. After an introduction of the dynamics of the eruption and the historical background of the the ancient city, we shall visit the following highlights of the site: The Forum, that's to say the main square, the centre of political, economical, religious and social life. The body casts, people preserved in their last second of life. One of the the ancient public baths. A rich house which will be chosen according to the crowds (which i always try to avoid) and opening rotation or to your specific request. Shops and workshops Water system The Theatre

5.00Alex was a phenomenal tour guide. Hands down the best tour of the trip. If I could give him 6 stars I would. He was so good with the children (and adults!) and made the tour so much fun. We didn’t want it to end. Also being an English speaking family he spoke English fluently and so clear (my kids had difficulty with other English speaking tours with tour guides with thick accents). Alex was also so patient when we took a wrong turn and were running behind. He communicated well prior to the trip and the day of on WhatsApp. He made the tour very fun despite our very rainy day. 5.00Wow! Alex is such a talented guide and our entire family loved our day. We did both sites (pompei with kids combined with Herculaneum in the afternoon). It was perfect. Definitely try to do both! My kids who are 10 and 8 learned so much and loved Alex who was so knowledgeable, passionate and fun. They will never forgot this day. It’s a great day of fun for the kids because they can explore and discover and there’s a lot of space/area to roam. Worth the day trip from Rome. As you can see from the photo the kids really loved Alex (and the adults too!). A++++

5.00Alex was great with our guys of all ages, from 7 to 16, they were all thrilled! Like us adults from thetronde. With sympathy, cheerfulness and an immense culture Alex has transported us into a thousand very interesting stories, giving us a perfect photograph of Pompeii! 5.00Stop scrolling these reviews and just book! Alex’s tours sell out for a reason: the passion, humour and empathy of Alex himself! Both for the people he is showing around Pompeii, and for the long-gone people of Pompeii itself. For Alex, a Vesuvian native, this is a living history. He cares so deeply about this place, and continues to learn and uncover new knowledge just as Pompeii itself continues to be revealed. Everything others say here about his expertise with children is even truer with neurodivergent kids like our lil guy. To get a scatterbrained 9 year old, in this heat, to stay present, entertained and moving is a minor miracle. And to balance that with just enough tantalising adult chat for the grown-ups? Genius. Alex: the world is yours, you’ve made friends for life!

For those interested in history with a lot of background knowledge , there are many details, as well as for children and first-time visitors to Pompeii time flies by.. We are fortunate that we have been able to experience several tours together with Alex and every time this is a highlight of our holiday. Alex has a very natural and personal nature and everyone feels personally addressed and involved We are already looking forward to the next tour with him. We will definitely come back!!!.
