Tallinn was one of my favorite cruise stops. This tour made it super easy to explore without stress. The guide told fascinating stories about the city’s past, and we had coffee at a lovely local café.

Pros - our guide was Miley and she was very good. Very knowledgeable and spoke in excellent clear English Cons - had this tour booked for weeks. Booked the 10.15am tour and with less than 24 hrs notice they emailed to say this was not available and that only 9am was available. This left us very little time to make alternative arrangements if we needed to. We had to speed walk from the ship to the city gates in time for the bus leaving! We arrived back at the bus 20 mins early as it was freezing cold but the driver would not let us on the bus and basically sent us off walking again. Crazy!!

Beware of booking this tour with this company. Upon booking they tell you the start time is only an estimate and to check and confirm 12 hours prior to estimated start time. We were at sea 12 hours prior without Internet service and, of course, they moved the start time up from 10:30 am to 9:45 am. What other tour gives you an estimated start time? Telia Travel stated that they pick up and drop off at cruise port but fail to communicate that there is more than one cruise port in Tallinn and, it turns out Terminal D (pick up point) was about a 20 mins walk from Terminal A where our cruise ship actually docked! There was WiFi at the terminal and I got a message from tour guide, Ivan, stating, "Hurry up. We're leaving in 5 mins". Of course we missed the tour and ended up being overcharged by the taxi driver for a 5 mins drive to terminal D. We took a second cab into the old town district thinking we could connect with the tour at one of the stops. This taxi driver was exceptionally helpful and actually called the tour guide who told us to remain where we were by visitor center and he would meet us there in 10-15 mins, carrying an orange bag. We waited 35 mins and he never showed. Visitor Center had never heard of the company, Telia Travel. Viator refused to refund our $178 as they told us we were the only ones to miss the tour. I appealed, explaining we made the effort to hook up with us in town but he never showed as he said he would and obviously had no intention of trying to meet us. Viator ignored this and they denied refund again. Knowing what I now know, I wish I had booked one of the free, tip-based walking tours through GuruWalk. We did that in both Helsinki and Amsterdam and had excellent guides for much less than these thieves charged us for nothing but aggravation in return.

The tour bus dropped us in the upper town with our guide, and we leisurely walked through into lower town, with plenty of stops for pictures. Our guide, Vedrik, was very personable and interesting, with a lot of historical knowledge and interesting stories and humor that even kept our 10-year-old engaged. There is a decent amount of downhill walking on cobblestone or tiled sidewalk so you are aware. We had about 1.5 hours at the end to explore on our own before the bus came, or you could take a taxi back to port if you were ready to leave. Great city to explore!

Great tour. Tour guide should have some flag of some sort since there were a lwhole ot of tour groups. One person got lost, there's just a lot of small always and turns in addition to hundreds of people.

This supposed to be a 5 hour guided tour. The guide spent 2hours briefly describing what we were seeing with over half of the group not able to keep up with her. Then she left us with 2 hours of free time and sowed us where the bus would pick us up and left.

Nice short tour, bus driver drops us off in the old town, keep in mind this is mostly a walking tour thru the Old Town of Tallinn, not to difficult with a bit of up & down paths, only one bathroom break,, tour lasted about 2 1/2 hrs, than we are all left on our own for about a 1 1/2hr to explore on our own before meeting up with the bus again to take us back to our cruise ship,, all & all a nice way to spend some time in Tallinn. Only issues was meeting up with our JAT guide at the start, some confusion with the meeting point pickup and time, which seems like a regular thing with JAT tour operators as I have had the same issue with them in the past.
