What To Expect

Operating Schedule:The first bus departs at 9:00 AM from Stop 1: Basilica (bus stop in front of St. Stephen's Basilica) and the last full tour departs at 6:00 PM, between these times teh service will be every 15 - 25 minutes. 5.00This was a fabulous option and l’m so glad l booked - got the 72 hour ticket as l was there 4 nights and it was great value. Included a free boat cruise during the day which was a welcome rest from walking for a short time. Budapest is stunning and this HOHO let you cover all the main attractions - as with most city’s now the traffic is busy but overall the buses were plentiful and regular. The info provided via the headphones was great and the staff were always helpful and friendly with any questions.
Great way to see the city.

4.00Watch were you get off at a stop. Signs are small and can be difficult to find. You and get on either bus company bus. They take both tickets.

3.00Mind you head on the top floor of the bus. There are a couple of buses where the roof of the top floor bus is low and you can bang your head on it easily, there are sharp edges on the rail on the roof. I banged my head a couple of times on consecutive occasions. I had nasty bruises not to mention headaches. Some of the other buses were fine. I noticed that others on the bus on the top complained about banging their head too. However on occasions, the bus did not stop by the kerb and getting off, I tripped and fell. Noone from the bus was concerned. It is a good way to see Budapest and our group enjoyed most of it though it is quite windy on the top floor so be prepared!

5.00Long distances between stops so plan on being on the bus for a while for the whole city tour. It even takes you across the river to Buda Castle area.

2.00Made to get off bus part way through the tour without explanation !! Asked to rejoin a line of people and then watched the same bus reverse into parking bay and then 10 mins later told to get back on the same bus !! This was not possible as bus now full Found the experience somewhat frustrating and chaotic!

3.00A bit confusing because Big Bus has been subsumed by City Sightseeing who indicate that they have an included boat trip while our Big Bus ticket booked online is to include a walking tour. We don’t think that there will be time to make there in time to start at 11 given where our boat is moored and Sightseeing describes the walk as a Tip Based walk that you should pay for by tipping at least 7 Euro. Also you must change buses at #9

1.00Very dissatisfied. We have been on these in other cities and this was the worst. Bus was too overcrowded with people standing in aisle. Left side of the bus has advertising covering the windows so even though you can see through it any pictures are blurry. Very little info provided by the tour guide. Got off the bus and walked after 4 stops.

4.00We were in Budapest for 4 days so booked the 2 day ticket. Did the compl÷te circuit on day 1 to get an idea of where we would like to go back then used day 2 to go back to the sights stopping off at a couple of places.
