Best way to get around the City and see all the landmarks especially if it’s your first visit to Budapest

narration doesn't follow along with route and local guide often overlaps with the stops. Boat tour at sunset was very nice.

I am afraid I score it low for several reasons. Firstly we struggled to find pick up on first morning as we were looking for the Big red bus.It seems you operate on both the Big bus and another operator which we were unaware of. Second morning we had to get off the bus as it was stuck behind a tram and couldn't move. We ended up trawling the streets in Budapest as we were unaware of our route no other buses followed due to the blockage of traffic. On our journey home the bus driver set off before my husband had got to his seat upstairs. He has injured his rib as he was slammed into the hand rail on the stairwell,if you have cctv you can see this ,it was on tge 2nd Dec. This was discussed with the young lady at the front of the bus as we dissembarked. It was also witnessed by the other passengers on board. Apparently before we boarded the driver had a altercation with a van driver also traffic rage,we don'tknow if had to catch up on his time. The third evening we waited for at least 15-20 minutes in pouring rain. Feel this was our worst experience with a hope on and off which we used around the world. We still may need to consult a doctor regarding his pain / injury. Very dissapointed. June Spavin

This did not add much value to our trip. The free river trip was not good , the windows were so misty up you couldn’t see anything . It was hard to find the bus stops and when we did get on a bus , it was rather chaotic and stopped mid Way as we told to get off with a blunt ‘Bue Bye’ !

This was not at all what we expected. It seemed as though it was being used by locals for public transportation. We had to get off one bus to get on another because the driver’s shift was done. We had to wait at least a half hour before the next bus started the tour again while the door was left open and we were freezing because of very cold temperatures. The microphones were not clear so we had no idea what stop we were at, plus we couldn’t understand the description of the stop (if there was one). We went upstairs to find not glass but plastic as windows so we couldn’t even see out. There were so many people on the bus at several points that we couldn’t see out the window to know what we were passing by. Would not recommend.

I booked the 2nd of December for tickets in error instead of the 9th. I realized my mistake immediately and sent two messages in the 'Contact us' section but got no response.

The Big Bus Budapest APP and WEBSITE are excellent sources of maps and valuable information on history, sites, and landmarks. The customer service team was very helpful and accommodating, and they responded promptly to my emails. Great communication! Set your expectations low for the actual BIG BUS TOUR experience. • The buses were usually full, the seats uncomfortable, and the riders were so playful, loud, and inconsiderate that it seemed pointless to listen to the narration. • In the seven buses I rode, the recorded NARRATION cut in and out. Regularly and consistently. The recorded voices were flat, unengaging, and seemed artificial. Narration often started up mid-sentence after long moments of silence. In at least one bus, the narration was not in sync with the sites. In all but one Budupest / Hop on Off Big Bus, the speaker system for the stops and live announcements was muddled, the words indistinguishable (like an old SNL skit!). • I got conflicting information from the Big Bus team. (examples: 1) I redeemed my voucher for a ticket at the office one day, three days later, the person at the office said I needed to go to stop #1 across the street to redeem my voucher. The team at the stop would not let me redeem for the required paper ticket unless I was riding at that exact moment, and insisted that I needed to go to the office to get the paper ticket (Igen, the office had just sent me to the stop to get the paper ticket!) 2.) Although I was told I could use a paper ticket only, some of the team insisted that one could use the app or voucher on any Big Bus or boat. Contradictory at best) • Please note: the buses travel in one, chronological direction only, so plan accordingly. Allow for about a 2-hour round-trip. The first bus starts at stop #1— and did not reach my stop, #17, until 10:30 am— which means the morning could be gone if you planned to use the Big Bus for transportation around the city or to a specific site. •• I bought a three-day Big Bus pass. Consider buying a one-day BigBus ticket plus PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. (As a SENIOR, I got great value using the Budapest public transportation system— which is free for seniors! It is quiet, comfortable, clean, and it runs frequently-- in many directions, for most of the day and night. ••• Final thought: consider buying a one-day, BigBus ticket, use it round-trip, no stops, then use public transportation for the rest of your stay. —— And read up on the sites on the Big Bus app!

Loved experiencing the market and buying what was needed for our meal. The small apartment we cooked in was nice. Our guide was knowledgeable and full of information about the area. Lots of wine from white to rose to red was drank. We didn’t actually do any cooking. Our group was too large. We each cut a few things. Our meal was delicious.

Buses run regularly, easy to hop on and off. Stay downstairs if it’s raining or snowing as although the roof is out on, the side are not always so the seats have puddles in them.

The buses varied in comfort. It was -1 and some still had open sides. One bus even broke down. The quality of audio was also variable from not working at all to cutting off mid sentence. The Danube trip was also pointless ! All the windows were streamed up and there was no information given at all so you had no idea at all what was happening outside!
