My e-ticket never loaded correctly. Frustrating. Drivers still let us ride. Buses came at regular intervals. Very much appreciated.

A great idea for seeing all of the sites. Some really good photo opportunities. We travelled on the top floor of one of the open topped buses in March. It was very windy and freezing cold. I advise that on these type of days you pick one with windows up top. However, I imagine the windowless ones would help to really cool you down in the hot late Spring/Summer months.

The buses are frequent and we managed to get good seats. There was a detour which meant missing some key sites which was not fully explained when we booked. The audio tour was awful. It was not at all informative, the narrative did not match our location and was mostly music. We gave up with the audio quite quickly. However, it is a super way to see the city and the option to hop on and hop off is great as it allows you to explore on foot and get a coffee.

This was a terrible experience. The bus drop off spots were hard to locate, and far from the actual destination (we were dropped off almost a mile from the coliseum and had to walk for almost an hour to even see it. We found it was faster to walk from landmark to landmark. The bus ride (for the ONE time we used it) was very crowded. A waste of time and money.

The big bus Rome is an excellent way to see the city. Never had to wait more than a few minutes for the bus. The audio on board was very informative and entertaining. The kids were thrilled with the free ice cream that each bus ticket entitled you at The Gelatist (several around the city). We had the 48 hr ticket which was great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

It all worked great. Upstairs it was a bit cooler but nobody can change anything about the weather.

Hop on hop off experience less attractive than similar ones in other cities. Full loop takes 2 hours and the stops are in general not close to the major landmarks.

Big Bus is one of number of operators apparently providing a near-identical service. The greatest disappointment was that the route does not pass, or even go near, any of the major attractions, apart from the Colosseum, where it currently does not stop. The Vatican, the Pantheon, the Fora, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain... all long walks from the nearest stop. St Peter's was a 20 minute walk from the Vatican stop. We started walking the other way towards the Pantheon, only to realise it was closer to our hotel than to the bus route. There are two stops labelled "Spanish Steps" but they are respectively 15 and 20 minutes' walk from the stops, according to Google. We had some difficulty finding our start stop, labelled Piazza Venezia, because it was in fact 1/2km away near the Teatro di Marcello. Shortly after leaving there, the commentary failed until we reached the "Vatican" stop. The commentary (English) consisted of brief snatches of superficial recorded information delivered in a tone of voice suitable for speaking to a seven year old. In most cases the timing was out, so the commentary was delivered after we left the location, or before the place was visible. In many cases it was about things not visible from the bus at all. For much of the time, the earphones just played music. Our bus took two short cuts, compared to the route on the map, including cutting out the two crossings of Tiber bridges. It then made a 20 minute stop at Termini station, without explanation. Positives: the buses are frequent, so you never have to wait long. The app allows you to see where busses are and provides extra information about attractions.

The bus did not go through the route that was on the map . We did not get to see the Roman Coliseum and it get on going by the same places repeatedly.

Was easy to find and use. Didnt stop at as may sites as we originally thought. Dint stop at colosseum or Trevi fountain. Close to Vatican. Able to use all day.
