Sitting in the front seat along the rail was a bad spot when it rained. The water ran off the roof awning, down into my seat and filled it up three times. There needs to be some kind of system to drain it away from the passengers.

Booked this when we arrived. Was perfect way to get an overview and a feel for where everything was. Enjoyed the night tour, but wished it started a few minutes later as it was still light when we got to the Colosseum

It’s kind of boring and you don’t get real close to anything. Better to just take a taxi right where you want to go.

Avoid this at all cost or you will be very frustrated because of service provided. My wife and I planned our visit to Rome using the Big Bus to transport around the city to see major sights. We purchased 3 day pass. We reviewed the map in advance and planned our tours based on listed stops. Stop #3 at the coliseum has been removed and had to get off at next stop and walk 2 miles fighting people and traffic and almost missed our prepaid tour. Next day we had prepaid pizza making class and had 90 minutes before it started. The Big Bus stop #6 was a 15 min walk to the class. The official bus attendant said no problem because we would be there in 40 min. 60 minutes worst case scenario. It took the bus 90 minutes and we missed the class and lost $200 as a result. We were really looking forward to this class but Big Bus official’s bad information really screwed us. If you decide to do this, plan on doing a lot of walking to get near any major sites. Also, plan on adding 2 or more hours for margin or you will miss your tour if pre planned, which most do. The route goes clockwise direction only and takes over 2 hours to complete one loop. Drivers will pause 10-15 min at each stop waiting for ticket official to sell tickets to people on street. Beware of street vendors nonstop bombarding you near each stop. Overall very very disappointed in the service provided and the misleading information. We also used the Big Bus Hop on Hop off in Athens, Greece. Amazing experience. Bus had stops on either side of the route to allow travel in either direction (not just one way).

The narration doesn’t match the location due to traffic as it is prerecorded. The drivers are not safe - constantly yelling out the windows at other drivers. The bus was hot and crowded. The bus stop attendants are pushy and confusing.

The bus is a good way to get around, but the Colosseum stop was closed which was a major bummer as we had to walk far.

The location of the stops were not in places that made sense to the highlights. For instance there wasn’t a bus stop near the coliseum. In addition it was difficult to take pictures from the bus even if you’re sitting in the second level, unlike other places we’ve taken similar service.

We walked an hour to the redemption center only to find out we didn’t need to do that! The operator of the bus said they didn’t know why Viator tells their customers that. The bus was fine once we got on. I probably wouldn’t do it again.
