Skip Hop On Hop Off in Rome

2.00Colleseum stop is closed making the next closest stop a long walk. Rome is too heavily trafficked to make this a useful tour. It is faster to walk to each stop and most of the time in the bus is spent not really moving. I have liked the hop on hop off in cities like Edinburgh, London or Dublin. I like the high level information while also getting the lay of the land. Unfortunately, Rome didnt really give me this experience. Skip in Rome unless you are staying right by a stop and even then I would rethink.

1.00Awful experience. Half the advertised stops are not open. The commentary is beyond bad, missing half the sights and talking briefly about some just after you pass them. Avoid like the plague.

1.00Big bus- hop on hop off doesn’t have street signs to find pickup places. Took me 1/2 hour to find a pick up station. Staff was abrupt and not friendly. Would not recommend. Did see other options while driving. I would suggest looking into them

3.00To be fair Rome was not what we expected. We have travelled to several large cities in Europe and felt this one just had no organization of how to find things. We were hoping the bus tour would help us with that. Instead the stops were just in the general area of something so you got off at the Vatican and had to walk 20 mins or more to actually get to the city. You ride the bus so you don't have to necessarily stop but can see the sites. We didn't even go near the trevi fountain which was disappointing. I would recommend as a way to get around the city but would not recommend if you expect to see any of the highlights from the bus.

3.00It was a very very hot bus .There were no fans or shaded areas, no AC . He inside of the bus did not have AC either . IT was dangerously hot in Rome . Water or fans should have been provided for customers .
It was good, but had to wait a bit.

4.00This hop-on, hop-off bus tour was pretty good. The main sights of Rome are easy to see and I like the convenience of planning on my own. Near the Colosseum and Vatican City there was an opportunity to go down and visit, which was very convenient. However, at some stops, the bus had to wait a little longer, and sometimes the bus was crowded. The audio guide was fine, but sometimes couldn't be heard clearly. Overall a good experience, but it's better to wait a little longer.
Conditionally recommended, unfortunately.

3.00The buses have too long distances between stops, so one has to walk a lot in addition to the sights. The staff at the stops and on the bus is very stressed and especially extremely rude.
