I took my five year old on the big bus tour of San Francisco. The driver was speeding and breaking recklessly the whole trip. After having been stopped at Jefferson Street, the driver made one last unnecessary and sudden acceleration and severe break, to scoot forward on the block. Everyone in the bus shot forward. Including my five year old who went teeth first into the hand pole at the front of the upper level. He hit his lip and teeth, cracking his front tooth. His mouth was full of blood, and another passenger gave me tissues to try and stop the bleeding. I followed up inside the Big Bus office and filled out an injury form but have not heard anything since. We went straight to the dentist where he needed composite on the cracked tooth. He also has two horizontal fractures across the tooth. We will need to monitor it continuously going forward for further abscess, infection, or root death. I have not heard back from Big Bus HR. I can provide photos of his tooth and lip lacerations if needed.

I got to say, this was not how I expected. Maybe I should have done more research but I only had one day in San Francisco due to Layover and I thought that to see the most of the city this was a good idea because the bus makes stops in most of the tourist places and that way I could save money in Transportation and see the most if it but it wasn't like that at all. One down side of buying this through Viator is that the driver does not tell you about the Bus's audio tour and headphones so that you can hear the history while on the bus (we missed that). The Bus also always left us far from the actual tourists places so we had to walk and lose time walking back and forth from each stop. The worst part of this was that it is advertised that the buses run until 6PM but we were waiting at a bus stop since 4PM and something, more than 1 hour before the ending time of the routes for the buses and 2 buses passed our stop. We were there waiting with other people who had children. The first bus did not say anything, then the second bus stoped and we were all happy even the children were saying "Finally" and the driver just apologizes and explain to us that he just stop to get the bus sign of that stop and that we had to wait for another bus (a third bus) to pick us up at around 5:07PM. Which honestly was not fair because it was time we loosed there without being able to hop on & off the buses and time we lose that we could have spent seeing other stops. So unless you start very very early like exactly at 10AM I dnt really recommend it. 1. Get the audio. 2. Start very early and prepare to walk. 3. Knowing what I said make sure your most important stops you do first and prior to 4PM.

Carlos Guzman you’re a legend. Helped us out with ticketing and expert advice on what attractions are worthwhile visits. This turned out to be one of the best tours we have availed ourselves of.

We really enjoyed the Big Bus Tour of San Francisco. It’s a fantastic way to see the city without worrying about parking or traffic, and the open-top views were incredible—especially crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. That alone made the tour worth it. The narration was clear, the route well planned, and it covered all the major highlights. However, there were a few downsides that kept this from being a 5-star experience. There were fewer buses operating than expected, which led to longer waits at several stops. At the end of the day, there also weren’t enough buses returning to the cruise port, which made getting back more difficult than it should have been. In addition, the price was slightly higher than I’d prefer, especially when traveling with children. Other hop-on hop-off operators in major cities often include free children’s tickets, which adds a lot of value for families. Overall, it’s still a great way to explore San Francisco and see the sights—just plan extra time for waits and know that it’s on the pricier side for families.

A little overpriced for the value. Sometimes the buses are 10 min apart, other times we had to wait 40 minutes. Very cool views though. I would wait to book at a hotel though where you can get a 20-25% discount. I wish I had done that.
