What To Expect
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
We guide you through the Memorial, explaining the history and suggest locations for best photo ops. Because of the length of the day tour (9-10 hrs) we are limited to 1.25 hours here.
Iron Mountain Road
Iron Mountain Road is an incredible unforgettable experience. It is the most unusual and captivating road in America. Everyone that has experienced this 17 mile stretch in the Black Hills leaves you in awe . . . the beautiful mountain views, the famous one way tunnels and the unusual pigtail bridges. This road was designed for all to slow down, to see and feel things that you don’t experience every day.

5.00I did the Mt Rushmore/Crazy Horse Tour on February 17th. I really appreciate that they went ahead with the tour despite me being the only person. It was hard to find a tour for that day as most companies wanted a minimum of two people and the ones that didn’t were very high in price. Thankfully I found these guys through Reddit who happen to offer tours for Solo Travellers My guide Scott was great, I’ve wanted to see Mt Rushmore for a long time so it was great to finally see it both from distance through a tunnel and up close at the site. This was a great way to tick this off my bucket list. I didn’t know much about Crazy Horse or the surrounding areas of Mt Rushmore, so it was interesting to learn about that on the tour Overall, this experience was unforgettable and thankfully it wasn’t cloudy that day!

5.00We had the best time and saw bison and donkeys and antelope and mule deer and prairie dogs. Lunch options would be awesome moving forward in the cold months but Cheryl was amazing and we ate in the vehicle to stay warm.

5.00We so enjoyed our BIG tour with Paula and Sheryl. They were very personable and excited for the tour. They were knowledgable about all of the sites and pointed out interesting features along the way. The lunch provided was great. We highly recommend Black Hills Open-top Tours.
