It was a wonderful day! The team at "Around the Basin" were fantastic and so organized. Upon arrival we were given details on how the tour worked. The shuttle bus to bring us to meet the bikes was punctual. The crew at the spot we got our bikes were so pleasant and helpful. They gave us instructions on how the bikes worked, instructions on how the e-bikes worked, (were very patient with those that had never ridden an e-bike). We were given the opportunity to practice riding at an open field - they were very easy to use! We were given a map of the trail and were on our way! We were told which winery to be at to meet the shuttles. Again very pleasant crew and punctual. It was an amazing day! Highly recommend!

Fantastic day biking experience in Queenstown. The team are awesome. One of our bikes broke part way. A quick phone call and our host turned up on the trail with a replacement within the stated 10 minutes.

This was our favorite activity of the whole trip. The weather was clear and perfect, and the scenery was to die for. A full day was perfect. We grabbed bagels and coffee in Arrowtown before heading out. Like others had mentioned, I wish we would have spent a little more time in Arrowtown since it’s a one way journey. The e-bikes are fantastic and absolutely the way to go! I’d never used one before, and they’re ideal for the hills and wind you’ll encounter. Because it was so hot, wine wasn’t really sounding good, but we stopped at Kinross which had been recommended for their pizza, and got cider, beer, pizzas, and then had a tasting flight before we left. All very good. Our last stop was at The Church winery, where the bus was to pick us up. This was the only negative experience we had during the whole event. The staff was so incredibly rude, particularly one woman. We had just arrived and sat at one of their outside locations. It’s very hippy-ish, with old tires and pallets as a table, scattered garden chairs, etc. One of our party went in the main building to find out if we order at the bar as in some locations, or waited for a server. She was treated very rudely, and the lady came storming out, saying we couldn’t just wait there for the bus. We tried explaining that yes, we were waiting for the bus, but we still had about an hour, so we were making this our last stop and wanted to order. We did end up getting drinks, but this lady literally would not speak to us the rest of the time. It was so uncomfortable. I’d recommend the biking wine tour in a heartbeat, but avoid The Church like the plague.

Good ride through the countryside. Friends completed the ride and I did not. Called for a ride and waited as directed but no one showed up. One heck of an expensive ride back to my rental.

We had a lot of fun on this self-guided tour. They make sure you are all set up and measured properly for on the bikes with instructions and maps to help you. The route to the wineries is amazing view, beautiful with fun bridges and solid hills. We did the e-bikes and have no regrets, without the assist it would have been much less “leisurely”. One thing is we did go on a Monday and a few of the wineries on the stop were closed so other days may be better to get to everything.

Pick up: straightforward Bike instruction: all good Bike trail: not so clear Landed up on a main road for 6kms or so, as not clearly signposted where one should go. Same applied to other parts of the route, where it was not so clear if one should turn left or right Eventually got to the wineries, cycled up some massive hill looking for Rockburn Winery (as it shows on the map). Googled it and found it was 1.35 hours away! Rockburn Winery is now Monte Christo (which is lovely) but they don’t tell us this before we set off

Great experience! The booking was a breeze, and included plenty of tips on how to get the most out of our tour. The briefing on the day itself was exceptionnaly clear and easy to remember. The bikes were top quality and top condition.

This was a great day. The team at Around the Basin accomodated us with a change of date due to weather . They provided the right amount of guidance to get us on our way . Highly recommend the full day wine tour . Do some research before hand and pre book your lunch and tastings . Kinross tasting was great value for money . All in all great day !
