Western Pará is famous for being considered the heart of the Amazon. In this region is the historic city of Santarém, poetically known as the Pearl of Tapajós. It considers a city a starting point for discoveries, such as the most beautiful freshwater beaches in the world, in Vila de Alter do Chão. From there, we'll cross by canoe and follow a trail that can only be accessed on foot or by bicycle. On the way, there is the possibility of contemplating birds and trees typical of the Amazon, smelling the white pitch, finding fruit trees from the region and taking an invigorating bath in the Tapajós River or in the lakes of Tapari and Lago Preto.

What To Expect
The tour begins with the bike crossing from Alter to Ilha do Amor, walking or by canoe (catraia), depending on the time of year. We follow dirt roads until we reach the branch that gives access to Ponta de Pedras beach. From there we visit Lago Tapari and Lago Preto, contemplate the view and return with the support car or pedaling to Alter.

5.00The hiring of services (travel to Belterra and Ponta De Pedras, in my case) was via WhatsApp, and they always responded promptly, resolving all questions objectively. Guides are punctual, friendly and professional. They give all guidance before and during the ride, follow and respect your pace, and are ready to give any assistance you need. Bicycle and accessories (helm, bottle and gloves) provided with the appropriate adjustments, as well as the provision of goodies (grain bars and the like) throughout the course. Very well-selected routes and trails (sensational places!), bringing the beauty and history of this part of the Amazon region. Rely on the experience of this company to do the bike tours through this region, which is the best way to explore the surroundings of Alter do Chão. Worth the price for everything they provide. 5.00Meeting Alter do Chão c Muriki made all the difference. Marcão and Japa, local guides, in addition to being very nice companions passed the gaze of who was born in the region and so we experienced a unique experience, in a unique place.
