What To Expect
Brevard County
Your guide will have everything set up and ready for you to embark when you arrive on site! Our launch location boasts open views of the Space Center’s vehicle assembly building, rocket launch pads, and the Milky Way in the night sky. On a clear night we often see shooting stars, starlink satellites and even the ISS over our heads. In the water, a microscopic algae is responsible for bioluminescence below you. Paddle with a certified Florida naturalist who truly cares about the ecosystem and learn from the microscopic bottom of the food web to the top about ecology in the lagoon. On some summer nights, there’s a possibility to learn about water sampling to quantify the dinoflagellates in the water as Sunny Nights Kayak Tours is aiding in a scientist’s cumulative studies on the pyrodinium bloom in our lagoon!

5.00We had such a great experience on our family bioluminescence kayak tour. Sunny was amazing - so passionate, informative, and friendly. Everything was ready to go when we arrived, which made the whole experience feel easy and stress-free from the start. Booking was simple, and Sunny was so kind and pleasant throughout the evening. The moonlight kayak ride out to the island was beautiful. We had time to explore, talk, and enjoy nature together. As an added bonus, we were even able to see Artemis II sitting ready for launch tomorrow, which made the night feel even more special. Our daughter had the absolute best time - she even got to catch and touch the comb jellies, which was definitely a highlight for her. Such a fun and memorable experience for our family. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

5.00Really awesome experience. Sunny sunny is a great tour guide. She is super knowledgeable about the Marine life in the area. She made the kayaking, easy and fun even though it was in the dark it wasn’t scary. It was exciting a wonderful adventure that I would definitely do again he must do if you are in the area.

5.00My experience was excellent because I get to see manatees and bioluminescence. It was a 90 minutes tour. I really love the environment and the atmosphere. It's like going on a kayak with your friend who happened to be a very passionate and knowledgeable conservationist where you can pick her brain and knowledges. It was just me but I asked her how many people was her largest crowd and she said it was 9 plus her.

5.00My kids and I had a very fun and educational experience with Sunny doing a night time tour. She was very knowledgeable regarding the ecosystem and clearly belongs on these waters sharing that knowledge with her patrons. My kids had never kayaked before but she was able to get them up to speed quickly and kept us safe and entertained the entire time. She and my son were trading spongebob references between the scientific enlightenment and kayak lessons which was quite fun for all of us. The bioluminescent algae wasn't super active due to the weather being a little chilly but the glowie jellies were awesome and we also ran into a bunch of fun loving horse shoes crabs having the time of their lives as well as a variety of bird and fish species that made themselves known to us. Sunny seemed to know quite a bit about each species we encountered, making the entire experience highly educational and entertaining. We booked during a rocket launch that SpaceX unfortunately postponed, but I'm stoked to go back out again and try to catch a different launch sometime soon.

5.00Amazing time for my sisters birthday. Definitely would recommend for a good time. Even seen a rocket launch Went to the island and looked for shells waiting for the launch. And caught the bioluminescence jellies. Can’t wait til the next trip.
