I have been giving tours of the rainforest since I was 12 years old. I know how and where to find the birds you want to see! I am proud of my island home and love to meet visitors and show them around.

Argyle Waterfall is not included to this tour, but you have an option to go to the waterfall, although you will need to pay for the admission fee on site

What To Expect

Fully guided tours in air-conditioned vehicle with pick up at your hotel or from the cruise dock. Options include birdwatching in the amazing Rainforest of the Tobago Forest reserve, visit the Argyle Waterfalls or take a full island tour (see additional options).

If you like us like wildlife and nature don't hesitate to use Michael "Birdman" as a guid. He gave us a lot of nice experiences with his knowledge about his Tobage. We learned a lot about both bird, plants and the culture of Tobago. You can tell that he loves to share his passion for the island and he is good at it. Thanks for some nice days with you. We highly recommend a tour with Michael. We did several tours and he took us around the island and showed us his Tobago. On each occasion he took us to local eateries so we got to enjoy local dishes. He was incredibly observant of what was discovered along the way and proudly shared. We had such nice days in his company!

We explored the rainforest with our guide Michael. He was absolutely brilliant and very knowledgeable. He told us all about the trees and was able to identify lots of birds even doing bird sounds to call them into sight.He answered all our questions and told us lots of history on our way to and from the rainforest. A truly wonderful experience.

We booked Michael the “Birdman” for a day trip to The Argyle waterfall and bird watching in the rain forest. We had a wonderful full day touring around the whole island with stops along the way for swimming and lunch! Michael’s local knowledge and lifelong passion for the Birds of Tobago really made the day special and his enthusiasm for his country was a huge highlight! We can highly recommend Michael!

My sisters and I met Michael by pure chance, and he volunteered to be our guide for the Argyle waterfall tour, then the rainforest tour. He guided us up the path for the waterfall and helped us navigate the rope up to the highest level of the waterfall! It was exhilarating and challenging with a lot of fun. Michael kept telling us funny stories the entire way and had us laughing so hard that I thought I was at a comedy club! He knew the exact footholds and areas to step so we could be safe! In the rainforest, his knowledge of birds was evident, and he expertly guided us up and down various paths, and under fallen trees. He pointed out various trees, plants, as well as spider and crab habitats. It was a day well spent! Take his tours - you'll enjoy them as well as his humor!

After visiting the Argylle waterfall we walked in the rain forest to discover the birds and trees. Michael brilliantly shared his knowledge with our group of 7 people. We ended our trip to Parlatuviers beach, a peaceful fishing village. What a beautiful and unforgettable day!

We went on the 5 hour excursion to The Main Ridge Rain Forest (it was a bit rainy but mostly we were covered by the trees. Michael was prepared and brought an umbrella though we didn’t need it) and his knowledge of birds was amazing! For more info on him just google Birdman Tobago. We also visited Argyle falls (pay separately, a different guide takes you) which was about an hour and the water was so refreshing. We stopped and got fresh bananas and coconuts to eat and fill our water bottles with, and drove past countless small villages and their bays with beautiful vistas, and he will stop wherever you want and get photos. He was so good he convinced us to do another tour with him 2 days later to Little Tobago for a short steep hike and birdwatching as well as snorkeling on Angel reef. We finished off with a delicious lunch at Jenmas Treehouse Restaurant- what a great meal! And his car was super comfortable and air conditioned. 10/10 recommend!

This was a fantastic day out. Michael picked us up from Magdalena Beach and Golf resort promptly at 7.am and gave us lots of info about the island on our private tour. He pointed out all the birds we saw in the rain forest and took pictures on our cameras sometimes. He also listed out all the birds for us which was useful. We wanted to go to Jemma’ Treehouse restaurant and he was happy to take us He drove us all around the island pointing out key places including Jenny Agutter’s house. If you get the chance do take this tour from a guy who knows everything about the birds who have their homes here. You will definitely enjoy this

We had a brilliant time being guided to Argyle by Michael. There were 9 of us ranging from age 9 to 75. He was a great guide and accommodated the fact we had children with us and older members of the family. We enjoyed his company, humour, and knowledge! We asked about lunch options and went to Gemma's in Speyside on his recommendation, and this did not disappoint. I definitely would recommend booking your tour/experience with him. What are you waiting for...give the man a call.
