Bishkek is the Capital of the Kyrgyzstan where there is great influence of the Russian Empire and Soviet Union during 1867 till 1991. Therefore , there is variety of Arts, mosaics , statues and architectural buildings from Soviet union and Russian empire which is quite interesting to praised .You will able to see the immense history of Kirgizia when it was not part of Russian Empire.
Like many other great Soviet cities, Kyrgyzstan’s capital was renamed under communism. The Bishkek born Bolshevik hero Mikhail Frunze lent his name to the city for more than sixty years. During this time, a change in name wasn’t the only revamp Bishkek experienced. In true Soviet fashion, the city underwent a physical transformation. People’s art adorned the walls of apartment blocks, work buildings and public spaces. Imposing Socialist Modernism architecture dominated civic design. Parks and green spaces sprung up across the city. It’s a legacy that endures to this day.

5.00The experience was amazing! Our tour guide Anna was so knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history and also walked us through the geography of the country. We walked through parks and statues and she very patiently explained all key sights. We spent 3.5 hours together. I will strongly recommend this tour and ask for Anna as your tour guide.

Friendly and knowledgable, he did a great job in bringing the city’s history to life, explaining the significance of all the buildings, monuments and mosaics that we stopped at. As someone with a love of Soviet history and Brutalist architecture, it was the perfect way to get acquainted with a city which is so rich in both. Thank you so much, Alex - was the highlight of my trip!

He was very knowledgable and friendly, and explained the city’s history, and the significance of all of the buildings, monuments and mosaics that we stopped at. Bishkek has some fascinating Soviet architecture and relics, and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in this period of history, Brutalist architecture, or who just wants to get to know this fascinating city a little better!
