Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park
We will drive from Accra to Cape Coast, enroute we will visit the Assin Manso Slave Market. This is the final and the last point of the slaves where they had their last bath before they travel through the virgin forest for 3 weeks to the castles and are shipped to the unknown world. We will learn about the slave journey. Over here we will connect to our ancestors at the salve river where they took their last bath.
Cape Coast Castle
After the tour we will proceed to Cape Coast and have lunch. We will visit the Cape Coast Castle. Cape Coast Castle is one of about forty "slave castles", or large commercial forts, built on the Gold Coast of West Africa by European traders. It was originally a Portuguese "feitoria" or trading post, established in 1555. However in 1653 the Swedish Africa Company constructed a timber fort there.

We will take time to learn about some of the historical and very old buildings of Elmina during the days of slavery. There will be an immersion into the culture and the tradition of the people of Ghana. I can’t explain in words the experience we had on this trip. Nana and Prince made us feel like we were home, which made the trip even more meaningful. Ghana is auch a beautiful country, with rich history. Will definitely be back soon.

This was an amazing experience for our group of 10 African American travelers discovering the true story behind our roots in the motherland. Nana and the team were prompt, patient and super personable for our week long tour. They shared so much knowledge and were able to maintain high energy the entire time. This trip went above and beyond my expectations and I’m forever grateful to them! I would recommend this company to any and everyone traveling to the one & only Ghana 🇬🇭 🤩

I don't know where to start. This was simply a trip to remember. First and foremost thanks to Nana, the Tour Guide, who was amazingly good at showing the best of Ghana in a short amount of time. He is hospitable, experienced, professional, extremely friendly, and does everything to make the trip as comfortable as possible! He is a natural when it comes to hosting. The agenda of my trip was around black culture, history and nature. From the Slave Dungeons and River, to the Mausoleum of Kwame Nkrumah or the Kakum National Park. Everything I have seen was spot on and exceeded my expectations. I was introduced to Nana via Melanin Travels Magic, a tour operator, who were able to accurately recommend him to me when I told them my agenda and expectations. It was an exciting, inspirational, spiritual and emotional trip. Everything was awesome. Starting from Nana, to the driver he chose, Malik, to drive us around. I can't thank Nana enough for the value he added. I already know I am going to Ghana again soon to finish off my round of the must-see spots!

I was introduced to this company initially on a tour to Boti Falls and I felt so comfortable with Nana that I booked this experience as well! I honestly cannot describe how this entire experience made me feel. As a black American searching for her ancestry, I couldn’t have had a more eye opening/spiritual experience with anyone else! I talked to chief(Nana), a beautiful 97yr old elder, prepared and ate a local Ghanaian dish, learned about the captivity, torture and selling of my ancestors and I even got baptized in the same water they were bathed in before being sold off. I mean, there was so much that happened in this tour that I’m still processing it. They took AMAZING videos and pictures of the entire experience for me to cherish forever. I am forever grateful for this experience ❤️
