It wasn't quite clear where we had to pick the taxi up. We were given a number and Street name ie 3 Donegal Square East but really it's the taxi stand (like a bus stop) on the pavement outside that address. Luckily our driver for the tour, Jake, was there waiting for us and approached us and welcomed us into his very clean taxi cab. Jake was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and gave a completely unbiased review. We learnt many things about the troubles, a lot of which surprised us and our hearts went out to all those innocent people who died and suffered during those times. The tour itself stopped about 3 or 4 times, where we got out of the taxi to walk around particular areas in order to see and experience things properly and I must admit, it was a bit of a struggle for us getting in and out as we are disabled, plus it was raining, which obviously could not be controlled, although Jake provided us with adequate cover by way of a good size umbrella each. After the taxi tour we were dropped at Crumlin Road Gaol, where Jake took us to the entrance and made sure we had our tickets and knew what to do before leaving us. The gaol itself was very interesting as well but again was a little overshadowed by our disabilities because of the amount of standing, watching videos about the particular areas of the gaol we were in. There were seats in some of the areas but not enough. Even though we could not manage to spend as much time as we would have liked there, because of the lack of seating by the videos, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and just wished that we could have spent the time to absorb everything more thoroughly.

Our first trip to Belfast. This was by far the best part of the entire visit. Our driver was first rate, he was funny, he was friendly but above all he was informative - we all leant so much, it was enlightening.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us a great deal of information. It was a real eye opening experience and I suggest others take part to learn more about not just the history of Belfast but the current ongoings as well.

Fabulous, many stops for an opportunity to get up close and personal to memorial gardens and various murals. Our driver, Jake was absolutely amazing full of stories about the troubles and the impact that continues to touch the next generations. Crumlin Gaol very interesting, like how it was set up with displays and videos

The tour was excellent, well narrated, informative with plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures. From what is clearly a very difficult subject, our guide was balanced and fair with everything shown. From

This tour and Ian were absolutely magnificent. The knowledge Ian possesses and how he relayed it to us was perfect. He was very personable and very engaging, plus he gave us plenty of time at each location to fully understand the history. The Crumlin Road Gaol was a self guided tour and very worthwhile to visit. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone who has the time and desire to learn about a very important part of Northern Ireland history.
