  The wildlife at the wetlands is fantastic. The drive is 2hours each way and our guide was kind of helpful if not at all extroverted

  Excellent experience in a truly natural setting! Very friendly guide, lovely lunch provided, and the firefly-lit trees after dark were something to behold. Highly recommended!

• Horrible Tour Guide (lazy Khatty)

  The tour itself was average if you have not seen monkeys or fireflies before. The drive was way too long … we spent about 5 hours in the car on this 9 hour tour. The worst thing was our tour guide, Ms Khatty. She did not provide much narrative during the car ride so it was quite boring. She was the last to join the group (only after the driver picked up all the tourists) and the first to leave (driver had to take a detour to drop her home) before any of the tourists were dropped off. She is probably one of the worst guides I have ever seen.

  What an unforgettable travel experience! Our Tour Guide was very knowledgeable of the jungle we sailed through, as well as the monkeys in the trees, so his narration and monkey-knowledge made the trip a great success. I felt as if I was on an Indiana Jones movie set as we cruised down the dark black water river through the jungle spotting monkeys in their natural environment up in the mangrove trees, constantly snapping photos of them as we sailed along. It was very rainy the day of our cruise, so we hardly saw any fireflies that night - they don't like rain - but the monkeys and the included lunch made up for it. Be advised it was a 2-2.5 hour drive to get to the river cruise from my Kota Kinabalu hotel on an unfinished, bumpy road, in a van with 7 other customers, one of whom made the Driver turn off the air-conditioner because she was too cold. The rest of us in the van suffered, but it wasn't the end of the world on ou trip home. This cruise is a great experiential and educational opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy, whether travelling solo or with a partner, friends or family. I highly recommend it.

  Great tour, we saw lots of wildlife, our guide Khaty was great and the food was delicious. It’s quite a long bumpy drive but this was clear before I booked, so just remember to bring something to do for the journey.
