Bou Saada is the ideal destination to escape for a weekend. Located just three hours drive from Algiers, this oasis offers a real change of scenery.
The Ksar of Bou Saada is a must. Although some streets are in poor condition, walking through its inhabited streets is a unique experience. Locals, warm and welcoming, will be happy to share their anecdotes and show you the way to historic mosques dating back centuries. Also take the opportunity to visit the school where former President Mohamed Boudiaf studied in the 1930s, a fascinating dive into local history.

Musee National Nasr Eddine Dinet
Visit of the Museum of Nasr Eddine (ex Etienne) Dinet in Bou Saada. Explanation of Orientalism and the character who converted to Islam and who is buried there.
The mill of the same name was built by Antoine Ferrero, an Italian who immigrated to Algeria in 1867, and is located 2 km from Busada. Near Oued Bousaada and the waterfall where young people bathe on hot days. Today, only the ruins of the factory remain, destroyed over time.

You can also visit the Maison de l'Artisana, a collection of paint, clothing and tableware shops. Prices are always negotiable. The space brings together many artisans who produce local handcrafted items and clothing... They also sell items imported from abroad, especially from Tunisia. Return at the end of the afternoon.

Algiers and the charm of the Casbah

5.00Honestly, I really liked Algiers. There's something special about this town. Walking in the Casbah, seeing the alleys and then looking out over the sea... it’s really beautiful. And of course, I also really liked the traditional food, it is delicious. Frankly, it was a very nice experience, especially with Riwaya Travel, which is a very good agency and organizes trips professionally.

5.00So, went to Bou Saida for 3 days with Riwaya Travel, an agency with which my sister has already gone, accompanied by a guide (Zinou). A beautiful city, full of history and fabulous personalities, like Étienne Dinet. On the other hand, it is very hot, you really have to be careful. The rest was beautiful!

5.00Back from a week in Bou Saada, the gateway to the desert. I asked the Riwaya Travel and Merwan team to organize a horse riding trip for us between Algiers and the closest town to the Bou Saada desert. I loved approaching the culture of Ouled Nail and discovering wonderful gastronomy as well as fabulous landscapes just 3 hours drive from Algiers. In addition, the hotels chosen with swimming pools are more than recommended and my children are in heaven. I recommend and of course I would come back
