Discover the people and places that made brewing a cornerstone of the Queen City’s history with a guided tour of our unique historical trail, featuring art installations and historical signage along the way! Beginning at the Hop On Trail Sign at Findlay Market, we follow the Brewing Heritage Trail along the eastern portion of the Brewery District, sharing stories of the workers, brewmasters, and beer barons from the 19th and early 20th century. Experience the places they worked, learn the dangers they faced, and the empires they built by producing America’s best brews.
Tours include a visit into the subterranean lagering cellars of the historic (non-operating) Schmidt Brothers/Crown Brewery, as well as outdoor visits to historic Hudepohl and Kauffman Brewery structures, and concludes with a pint of beer at Findlay Market. Those joining us in the underground cellar will need to be able to traverse a series of stairs leading in and out, but all guests have the option to remain topside.

Michael was so incredibly knowledgeable! We have lived in Cincinnati all of our lives, but never knew about all of these brewing, tunnels right beneath our feet! The walk around downtown taught us so much about the city that we live in, and the rich history all around us. Everyone’s favorite part was going down into the limestone tunnel! We booked this trip with friends and family and had so much fun that we can’t wait to book another one.

We arranged a custom tour for our office team's holiday outing and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The event included a tour of a microbrewery and the fascinating Jackson Brewery lagering tunnels. Our tour guide Mike did a super job. Our team loved the tour and loved Mike’s deep knowledge and witty, light hearted delivery!

Very knowledgeable guides. Rob and his lovely wife conducted the tour on a Sunday afternoon. Passionate about the legacy and history of breweries in Cincinnati. Area is semi-gentrified, but perfectly safe. Highly recommended.
