Considerable amount of walking on uneven paving stones. Wonderful and charming city. Would recommend the canal tour.

We took the walking tour and canal cruise, and it was probably the highlight of our trip. However, the canal trip was the clear winner; the children enjoyed being on the water, and adults found the environment to be really peaceful. It is definitely worth the tour expense.

A few of us traveling together on a cruise decided to take this tour so we could explore Bruges without having to plan everything ourselves. The transfer from the port went smoothly and the guide kept the group organized. Once in the city, we walked through several historic areas and had some time to explore on our own as well. The canal cruise was relaxing and offered some nice views of the old houses and bridges. It was a nice balance of guided time and free time.

Our family chose this excursion because it combined transportation to Bruges with a canal cruise, which sounded interesting for everyone. The city itself was very charming and easy to explore on foot. We liked walking through the small streets and seeing the historic squares. The canal cruise was a highlight for our kids, who enjoyed seeing the bridges and buildings from the water. It was a relaxed outing that worked well during our cruise stop.

We visited Bruges during a cruise stop and thought this excursion would be an easy way to see the city with our kids. The drive from Zeebrugge didn’t take long, and the guide pointed out a few interesting things along the way. Bruges itself was beautiful, with lots of old buildings and canals. The canal cruise was enjoyable and gave us a chance to sit and take in the scenery after walking around. The timing worked well and we returned to the ship without any stress.

Bruges is a small city, so it’s possible to see most of the main sights in one day. The combination of walking and the canal cruise worked well. It’s not overwhelming, just a relaxed way to explore.

Tropical Storm Benjamin caused us to miss this port. We were advised of the missing port less than 24 hours prior to the start of the shore excursion, therefore, no refund. I was reimbursed by my travel insurance, BUT the tour company got the money--although they were unable to provide the service because of the Tropical Storm. Doesn't seem fair.

A much better than we had expected. We usually don't go for organized tours, but our guide Beatrice made it worthwhile. We learnt loads about Bruges from someone who had spent his whole life there.

Streets are quieter. Lights reflecting off the canals. Still saw all the main spots but in a different light. We saw the Markt, de burg, the canals etc. At last we enjoyed our day without any regret.

Only book this rather pricey tour if you are 100% sure that your cruise ship couldn't possibly change its itinerary here due to bad weather. If it does, especially last minute (as our cruise ship did just 14 hours before planned arrival), you will lose 100% of your rather expensive cost for this tour. On the other rare occasions this has happened to us, the tour operator graciously understood it was completely out of our control and refunded the cost. Not this one!! I let them know within minutes of the ship changing itinerary, and got told too bad - they kept the entire coat and provided no service. So, it might be fantastic, but we (and other travelers like us) will never know. Book with caution and pray for good weather. We will also be rethinking whether Viator tours are worth the potential financial risk.
