Discover the beauty of Romanian Christmas from traditions to tasting food and drinks that we cook especially for holidays. Your local guide will take you at the most important Christmas Market in the city and at the same time you can hear stories about how we celebrate Christmas, interesting, but also weird traditions for this period of the year and also changes that appeared in communist Romania. Of course, you will not miss the decorations on the main boulevards.
At the fairs, the guide will explain which are the traditional souvenirs and also what we eat for our Christmas (such a long list that it will be difficult to remember).
One of the highlights of the tour is the story of Christmas during communist times, when Santa Claus was illegal and abusively replaced by another character.

What To Expect
National Theatre Ion Luca Caragiale (Teatrul Nakional Ion Luca Caragiale)
Take a walk on the boulevard in front of the theatre to see the most amazing Christmas decorations in the entire city. Normaly, this is the boulevard that receives the best decorations.
University's Square
Here is the location of one of the most visited Christmas markets in the city. Drink a traditional Romanian wine and enjoy the atmosphere with handmade items and souvenirs.

3.00Very rare market in Constitution Sq. Big tree. Many similar food trucks. Special holiday wibe missing. Expensive pricing for everything.
Very lovely tour but... luckily avoided missing tour due to meeting pt change by calling tour company while waiting.

4.00This private walking Christmas Market tour was nice. Walked around Bucharest for a few hours seeing beautiful hotels all lit up and finishing off at the Christmas Market. Only issue is Viatour did not have the correct meeting address on the emailed ticket voucher. Luckily the phone # of the touring company was on the voucher and we were able to communicate the new meeting point after waiting 10 to 15 minutes. Also note many tour guides use WhatsApp as a communication method in Europe. I was not aware of this and it almost cost me the tour.

5.00Fun tour with Ali who was a great guide. We saw lots of lights and walked all over the city ending at the market near Parliament building. We enjoyed learning about Romanian Christmas traditions.
