[GLUTEN FREE, VEGAN, VEGETARIAN Options Available] What makes the Foodapest Cooking Class unique is that it blends culture, flavors, connection, and history into one experience. Unlike a standard cooking class during the morning classes, we begin with a guided market tour at the iconic Central Market Hall, where guests taste local specialties from real Hungarian producers. From there, we bring those fresh, seasonal ingredients to our cozy Budapest-style venue and learn how to prepare traditional Hungarian dishes, based on real family recipes. Along the way, guests connect with the city, the food, and each other: discovering not just how Hungarian cuisine tastes, but how it’s shaped by tradition, stories, and everyday life in Budapest. It’s not just a cooking class, it’s a cultural experience served family-style.

We had the best time with Mesi and Emma! They were incredible teachers and we learned so much. Besides for that my husband and I had such a great time getting to know them and we felt like a group of friends having dinner together. We loved learning new recipes and cooking skills we can take home with us. 10/10 would recommend this experience to anyone.

Excellent cooking class! The tour of the market was fascinating, we got to select vegetables for the food we later cooked. The wines and food were very yummy and we got some great tips along the way! I would recommend this for anyone visiting as we got to learn the about Hungarian cuisine and eat great food!

My daughters and I took this class with Birdie. We had an absolute blast. Birdie is incredibly knowledgeable and has a wonderful, warm personality. She should have her own TV show. She took us through the Central Market to shop for our class. She clearly know this market well and pointed out all the interesting facts. Following our shopping spree we went to the kitchen where she gave detailed instructions on preparing a delicious meal, complete with wine. I can’t say enough about the awesome day we spent with her. She really makes Budapest feel like home. No matter what your level of cooking expertise you will learn from her. I wish we could have taken her home with us!

What are great experience! We only arrived in Budapest an hour before the tour, but the timing was perfect. Ben and Emma did a wonderful job leading us to four unique places to taste hungarian food AND drink, sharing stories and history all along the way. My son and I were stuffed by the end; and we really enjoyed speaking and drinking with the other attendees. Highly recommend this tour and company, Foodapest.

It was a homey experience for our couple and another mother-daughter pair. The teacher's English was very fluent and easy to understand; she explained not only the cooking but also Hungary's geography and history. I don't understand English very well, but I could grasp the main points. Especially regarding the cooking process, English wasn't necessary. It started at 1 PM and ended after 5 PM, but it felt like it flew by.

We had such a lovely afternoon with Kinga. We made Chicken Parikash. We enjoyed plenty of locally produced wines and meats before we enjoyed the food for a late lunch. Would definitely recommend.
