An okay experience. We got to Busch Gardens parking lot about 10:20 Tuesday March 17. We hoped to be there way earlier but a few highway accidents slowed our arrival. The line to enter parking lot was exceptionally long. Essentially 2 lanes of street traffic entering from either direction going into 4 lanes and then into 8 queues. It took way too long. $40 for basic parking seems excessive. It is a quick walk to the gates or their shuttle. Again at the gates the entering processes was a bit like 'herding' a whole bunch of people through a couple of security lanes - then opening up to actual entrance queues. It was March break so we expected busy - it was sort of. We purchased Admission+Food+Fast Pass. There seemed to be a bunch of stuff under construction + due to time of year not all the animals were not out. The Serengetti Flyer + Congo River Rapids + Falcons Fury + Kumba > were not operational that day. Frustrating we paid full price + fast pass and 4 rides were out of commission. Cobra's Curse waited 30 minutes in Fast Pass lane and it stopped working just as we were getting to the ride queue. We bailed went to Montu which now had a 45 to 60 minute Fast Pass wait. So it was end of the day and we missed 2 more rides. We got on Shrieka, Tigris and Cheetah Hunt (x3) and the Train over from 11:45 am to 7:45 pm. Not great value. We picked Busch Gardens as Admission and Fast Pass cheaper than Universal or Disney. I think they oversold the Fast Passes. Because so many rides not in operation it puts undue strain on the remaining rides. The park itself is nice. We enjoyed the animal part to it. Value for our day was not great. If all the rides were up and running and not so many Fast Pass folks - I think we would have got better value. The food at Zagora Cafe was terrible. Oasis Pizza was fine. After been at Disney and Universal - I would say the staff here need a buff up. From their attire, attention, work ethic etc it is miles behind the Orlando parks. There needs to be more Management out and about walking the park and restaurants. Too many young kids with no idea how to manage issues. Given our kids are late teens now - we won't have the need to come back. But even if my kids were younger based upon our visit we likely would go somewhere else.

We went to Busch Gardens today! Horrible to get into park. No directions handed out. Total chaos in whole park. Mostly run by teenagers. Long lines for all rides!! Many rides not running. Prices are sky high. $45.00 to park. $159.00 for non resident. Food expensive. Took 2 hours to get in park after getting through parking. We were a group of 5 will never set foot there again!! Part of our group are Florida residents . Been here years ago!! Not the same!! Waited over an hour for train that takes you around park to see the animals. Only one train running and people lined up what seemed like endless line. Our weather was beautiful and that’s the only good about today! Save your money and go to Disney!!

I was so looking forward to going to Busch Gardens after having gone many years ago as a kid. I was very disappointed by the appearance of the place. It looks old and run down. I paid extra for fast pass and although the lines were shorter than the regular lines it was still a long wait. We were only able to ride 3 coasters as there were a few that were not operational, mind you, this was Spring Break. Drink prices (water and soda were crazy $7). The staff are very young. It was unsettling to be getting on a roller coaster and the staff running and checking the equipment looked to be all teenagers. I won't be back and would recommend folks skip this once wonderful place. It's a shame it wasn't a better experience for the price you pay.

Worst experience at any theme park in my life! Took 3 hours just to get into the park then found out I couldn’t even keep a tiny purse cross body style on any rides. No loose objects - keys, phone, nothing allowed so have to fork out $ for a locker & nothing to do while waiting in line. $40 to park was ridiculous! Absolutely inefficient ticketing/entry process, & they RAN OUT OF FOOD! We were starving after taking so long to get in. We left without riding a single ride & I will NEVER be back even though my ticket gives me free entry until the end of this year and I’m local! DO BETTER Busch Gardens! DO Better!

Updated review based on Mar. 2026 visit: 2 stars. This place is an overpriced ripoff. Seven roller coasters were closed for work, as well as some large animal exhibits. Train was not operating efficiently. Our visitors were so disappointed. Yet full price was still being charged, even with so much closed! And this was during Spring Break!! Food ridiculously overpriced, and then they hit you up for $12 for a locker as they do not allow keys, phones, purses, or ANYTHING on the rides. Such a ripoff. We will not be returning. Feb. 2024 review (5 stars): Lots to see with many good animal exhibits, all of them apparently well cared for, and a variety of rides, appropriate for various age groups. And some good animal presentations and shows. Unfortunately some of the rides and animal exhibits were closed. Wear good walking shoes! The food and drinks are outrageously expensive, take your own. Look for online discounts.

I think Busch Gardens might be one of my favourite theme parks. The coasters were incredible, the queues were nonexistent and the swing ride I’ve forgotten the name of was so much fun. Our day was sadly cut short due to thunderstorms so the rides all closed around 3pm and we had to leave. Thankfully we’d ridden everything we wanted to beforehand because of the short queues.

Busch Gardens feels like the remnant of an outdated theme park concept that hasn’t quite kept pace with modern expectations. While the Serengeti Safari and the animal experiences are genuinely enjoyable and stand out as highlights, much of the rest of the park feels in need of reinvention. Another downside is the constant feeling of being charged at every turn. From the moment you enter, there seems to be an added fee for nearly everything—and often at quite steep prices. At times it feels like the only things not being charged for are the air and the restrooms. Overall, the park still has some worthwhile elements, particularly the wildlife encounters, but the experience leaves the impression of a destination relying heavily on past investments rather than evolving. In many ways, it feels like the epitome of the sunk cost fallacy. A 3/5 experience at best — and that is for the animal experiences!

Before you go to this park, you have to remove the Disney chip and once that is done. You will enter a small, modest, but long-standing park in the United States. Attractions: 8/10 - Good overall. The ones that were open were really fun. I recommend you buy the park’s Fast Pass and line up 5-10 minutes at the busiest attractions. Cuisines: 5/10 - We buy the package with food but it is lousy, horrible without a doubt. Try attending one of the restaurants. Fast Food is lousy Prices: prices in general are common for a small in the US, give $5 for a water or soda, normal. It should be mentioned that in Tampa, it is the only park, so take it easy and adapt your plan to these conditions. My rating 7/10

Pricey admission ticket plus $40 to park, $5+ for bottle of water, $17 draft beer?!! Otherwise, the rides were great!! Lines were reasonable for a Sunday 30-45 min. Signage was difficult at times, not an easy park to navigate. Saw numerous animals on the train; most shows were closed, lots of renovation going on throughout the park. Wish we would have paid the $13 for day locker rental, which can be transferred from ride to ride. Only had very small hip bag, and they practically mandated use of a locker then had to go through metal detector to get one of the rides?! Feel like we enjoyed it, but in hindsight might have enjoyed a beach day better & spent the $$$ elsewhere on our trip.
