Historic Village Herberton
Set on 16 acres, the Historic Village Herberton is a tin mining town with shops, pubs, banks, chemists, grocer, printer, and garage. More than 50 restored period buildings are making this outdoor museum the most significant in Queensland. The Historic Village Herberton is an outdoor museum presenting the story of Australia’s pioneering past. Its particular focus is on the tin-mining town of Herberton, which is its home. Herberton is the oldest town on the Tablelands, established in 1880 on the back of a tin mining boom. The Historic Village pays homage to this era when mining dominated the mineral-rich mountains of the Atherton Tablelands. It has a strong interest in turn of the century machinery and small engines, transport, fashion, pharmaceuticals, motor vehicles, and war memorabilia. Priceless Australian collections from grocery items and tobacco to treasured dolls and toys also feature prominently throughout the museum.

We had a great tour, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and a very friendly person. The attractions were great and his vehicle was very comfortable with ample leg space for lengthy travel. It was a great and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour. In addition as we were only a party of 2 on this tour we substituted the wallaby part of the tour a look at one of their waterfalls. He was very flexible with the itinerary. GREAT DAY.

We were picked up by our driver MAN on time in his van for a day tour of Paronella Park & Herberton Historic village. MAN was an excellent driver & full of information on the area extremely friendly & courteous. Paronella park is beautiful, our guide Janela was extremely informative. They offered umbrellas for guests which was very helpful. The cafe had delicious scones with jam & cream & coffee. Our next stop was Herberton which was about 1.5hrs drive through the tablelands. Herberton is a real step back in time and is set out so well and a leisurely walk around is a must to take it all in. They also have a cafe & lunch if needed. As we were only a small group of 3 we decided not to go to the wildlife park & MAN was always stepping up with other suggestions of where we may like to stop. Our day was wonderful and we would recommend the tour to everyone.

Loved, loved Paronella Park. Could not believe the size of it. The history behind it was very interesting. Very worthwhile to see it as it was on my bucket list and it exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this. Loved Historical Herberton with the traditional damper and the authentic Australian bush meals provided for a small charge. Great village and well worth the look.

We had a personalised tour with Man. He provided lots of preamble to a wonderful experience at both Paronella Park and at Herberton historic village. He allowed us sufficient time to enjoy both places. A truly memorable day!
