  • Beautiful excursion

The tour was nice, we had great weather and also the food was great. Whitehaven Beach is uniquely beautiful. The reef we saw later at the Getting to see snorkeling was really nice and intact too. Unfortunately, due to the tide, the walk to the Inlet Hill Lookout was closed, but the crew couldn't help it, which was of course a pity. Because just from up here you can see all the beauty... Furthermore, it is important to be aware during the tour that this is a fairly large group that does not allow individual support. Grade as a snorkel beginner whrs not good. Everything seemed a little impersonal. Since we did two extremely authentic and individual tours with only 30 people before that, we were certainly a bit spoiled by it.

If you're a keen snorkeller this probably isn't the trip for you, as most of the time is spent travelling rather than in the water. In total we had about 40 minutes snorkelling and on this occasion it wasn't in a great spot. Having said that - the boat was amazing, crew all fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. All food and drink included in ample volumes and to a high standard. The stop off at Hill Inlet is breathtaking and a must not miss while travelling out here. Also be aware that all activities involve hopping in and out of a smaller tender, you cannot get straight on and off the boat - which may be a consideration for those with mobility issues or nervous swimmers.

We joined the Camira Sailing Adventure in October 2025 and can definitely recommend it! The catamaran was clean, well-maintained, and offered plenty of space for everyone on board. The crew was friendly and professional, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The food was tasty, and drinks were plentiful – both soft drinks and alcoholic beverages were included and constantly refilled. The highlight of the day was definitely the Whitehaven Beach stop – one of the most breathtaking places we’ve ever seen! White sand, turquoise water, and that perfect postcard vibe. All in all, it was a great trip and well worth the money – especially if you’re looking for a relaxing sailing day with great service, good food, and stunning views. The only downside was the snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. The water was quite stirred up by the large group of swimmers, so visibility was poor. After putting on the wetsuit, mask, and fins, the experience turned out to be rather unspectacular – especially compared to our snorkeling trips in Thailand and Egypt, which offered a much richer marine life. Our verdict: A truly enjoyable day on the water – only the snorkeling didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience. That’s why we give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Had a fabulous day. Crew were great, food was great, location for snorkelling was great. Couldn't fault the experience.

For one thing, the food was quite good. There was even a croissant in the morning and cake and fruit in the afternoon. Unfortunately, we were back 1.5 hours earlier. In addition, 1.5 hours at whitehaven Beach is simply too little. The snorkeling was okay. Otherwise, however, the tour consists exclusively of boating.

This is really suited to a young crowd but is not stated in the advertising. Crew were on the whole great, except for Sam who completely left myself and my friends behind on the walk. When he saw us afterwards he pretended to care. The crew were not honest about how the snorkelling was likely to be hopeless in lumpy seas and high tide, pretending it was great. The food and drink were great & plentiful.

  • We spent Limited time at Whitehaven Beach due to 1.5 hours lost due to mechanical issues with boat ☹️

Overall it was a great day-the Staff and the catamaran are lovely. The snorkelling was fun and the food was fantastic along with the included beverages . Unfortunately, our trip was delayed by 1.5 hours in the morning due to a mechanical/electrical issue with the catamaran. The staff asked everybody whether they had commitments in the afternoon indicating that we would arrive back later than normal and therefore extend the day so that we didn’t miss out on seeing anything because of the delay. At the time that seemed reasonable and everybody agreed however when we got to Whitehaven for the walk to the Lookout and then down to swim at Whitehaven Beach the amount of time we were given was limited in that we only got 10 minutes on Whitehaven Beach. This was so that the trip could finish back in the port of Airlie at the normal time of 5:30 pm and in actual fact they did not extend the journey as promised in the morning. Because of this decision we only got to spend 10 minutes on the beach at Whitehaven instead of probably an hour to an hour and a half. That was pretty unfair and deceitful of the staff to do that in my opinion.

  • Fantastic Day on the Camira and Whitehaven Beach!

What a fantastic experience. We've been at Airlie Beach for 2 weeks and this was our best day so far. The Camira was perfect, not over crowded and very relaxing. The staff were awesome and so helpful and friendly, including our guide who loved to dance and encourage us to have fun. The food was superb all day with a nice croissant and cuppa for breakfast, cheese and biscuits etc for morning tea, delicious bbq lunch and not that we could fit it in, but chocolate cakes and fruit for arvo tea. We also stayed well hydrated with beer, wine and cider. However the highlight was definitely snorkling on the reef (only negative was the sun wasn't out most of the time, so we didn't get the full range of colours, but still awesome and so many differnt types of fish and coral. Swimming on Whitehaven Beach was also a highlight with the crystal clear blue waters and smooth white sands. Great value for money and would highly recommend to anyone looking to cruise the Whitsundays with their family or friends! 👏👍
