My family did a day trip with Discovery Tours Australia to Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Rainforest, and Cape Tribulation, and it was one of the top highlights of our trip to Cairns! Our guide, Scotty, was incredible. His deep knowledge of the local wildlife, plants, and history was impressive, and you can tell he’s truly passionate about conservation. He kept us entertained throughout the drive with great stories, local insights, and plenty of jokes that had us laughing. The experience at Mossman Gorge was a standout—we had the chance to hike through the lush forest and take a refreshing swim in the clear waters. We also spent time walking along the stunning beach at Cape Tribulation, which provided some of the best photo opportunities of the entire trip. The wildlife sightings were memorable—we spotted a few young crocodiles during the river cruise and were lucky enough to see both an adult and a juvenile Southern Cassowary! Lunch was at a secluded local spot where every plate was served with a variety of fresh local fruit. Topped off with a stop for delicious local ice cream, too. While it was a long day, it was also the perfect day. Highly recommend Scotty and the Discovery team!

Jeremy was our guide tour date 11th April, he was very approachable, professional and helpful, he bent of backwards to ensure we had a fantastic experience! He was extremely knowledgable about the tour and the areas we visited, he shared an array of information about an enormous amount of flora and fauna right down to the cellar level ie. Jellyfish and how the attack/hunt to the different islands, the indigenous names and histories too! He was a brilliant guide who kept us on track and on time throughout a very busy action packed day. He showed us an array of insects and wildlife we otherwise wouldn’t have seen or known about! I would definitely recommend him as your guide, he was excellent and we had a fantastic day. Thanks so very much!

The rainforest experiences were extremely disappointing. These were just two walks of only 200 m each on platforms trails ending on a viewpoint. We had only approximately 30 minutes for each walk, with little to see and many other people. This was no nature experience at all like we expected it to be. The other stops were rather disappointing as well. Port Douglas e.g. was a 10 minute toilet stop, with nothing to see. Most of the day was spent driving at pretty high speed for many hours in the tour van. To us this was a high priced, wasted day. The only highlight was the wonderful lunch, which we truly enjoyed. And an additional unplanned stop in the rainforest which our guide thankfully added at the end. To be clear here: This feedback is regarding the itinerary, not regarding our wonderful guide Steve. Steve was wonderful, full of knowledge and your humor. He was telling very interesting facts and stories through the whole trip. Rating Steve is a clearly a 10 out of 10! Also, we would like to add, that the Viator service worked perfect, when we contacted Viator before our trip.

I did a day trip to Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Rainforest (including a river cruise), and Cape Tribulation. Overall, it was a good day and the locations are absolutely beautiful—well worth visiting. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and everything ran smoothly. However, the itinerary felt quite rushed. There were many stops, but very little time to actually enjoy them. For example, Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas were extremely brief, and the morning tea stop felt unnecessary. I think the day would benefit from focusing more on fewer places with more time to explore, rather than covering so much ground. Lunch was also disappointing—the food was very average, and the steak was unfortunately one of the worst I’ve had. It also took quite a while, which felt like time that could have been better spent enjoying the Daintree. The main downside was the bus comfort. Although it was clean and modern with good AC, the seats were quite uncomfortable for such a long day—no footrests, no armrests, no recline, and limited space for belongings. Overall, a positive experience thanks to the incredible places visited, but with a more relaxed itinerary, better food, and improved comfort, it could be much better.

Our tour was led by Jeremy, a highly experienced guide. He gave us a lot of interesting information, was very friendly. Unfortunately, the loudspeaker didn't work on the bus, so it didn't come across as well into the back of the bus. This trip is highly recommended. When swimming in Mosman Gorge it is recommended to put on your swimsuits before the trip, there are no changing rooms there.

The stop offs were absolutely beautiful and the complimentary morning tea and lunch were delicious. We packed so much into a day and we felt well looked after! Would 100% recommend.
