Culloden Battlefield
We will travel to the Culloden Battlefield, where the Jacobites lost many a soul in the 1946 uprising. This was the last battle to be fought on British soil. If time allows we will give guests a chance to walk on the battlefield. Depending on tour we may not stop but just drive by.
Culloden Viaduct
After a half hour visit at Clava Cairns, we will pop around the corner to see the famous Culloden or Nairn viaduct, designed by Murdoch Paterson and opened as a railway crossing in 1898. It is a spectacle to behold – there will be photo opportunities.

We had originally booked a tour called LOCH NESS, OUTLANDER SITES AND HIGHLAND and my friend had to cancel. I was told I couldn't keep that reservation because it was in her name. I was forced to book another similar tour, which did not have as many stops and was twice the amount. I was told that it was booked, which made no sense since 2 spots opened up because she cancelled.

Soaris (?) our guide was one of the most knowledgeable guides we’ve had on a tour. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. His communications throughout the excursion was first rate. The tour itself was really enjoyable and educational.

The Calder castle visit was wonderful, we have an adequate amount of time. I recommend a quick bite if you eat at the restaurant there, save time to walk the wonderful gardens. The Inverness visit will be better when the castle renovation is completed, lack of access to and photo opportunities isn’t the excursion operator’s fault. The battlefield visit was very rushed, almost no time to look at things there, the 30 minutes we had was only time to run through and snap a few pictures. I enjoyed the views, but our guide wasn’t a regular on this tour and was struggling to cover all the details. I do recommend the tour. Check to find out if the port maintenance is still interfering with the transport to and from the ship to the pick up point. This may have added to the short times at a few attractions.

Disorganization at the port (not totally the fault of the tour). We didn't stop for Highlander and we didn't stop in Inverness where we were supposed to have time to walk and take photos, so a big disappointment. And it's not cause us hand not enough time. We passed to much time in Culloden and really too much time (25 min more then previous) in a farm to see 2 highland cows and to try to sell us some stuffed toys and souvenirs. The Cawdor Castle was really nice with his gardens. In Loch Ness we would have appreciate to have a look to Urquart Castle qho was really close. It's my first bad evaluation. Very disappointed. We had to see some points related to Outlander but we were told that the bus was too heavy. We had to stop in Inverness and have between 25 and 45 minutes to walk and take pictures but no. We lost 45 minutes on a farm where there were two Highland cows. We wanted to stop by the souvenir shop... Cawdor Castle was great. Stopping at Loch Ness should have been done so that you could see Urquhart Castle. A lot of disorganization on arrival but mainly due to the port authorities.
