4.00Vernie was a good guide, we had a driver so the two of us could just jump out and then jump back in (traffic is crazy). It was right before the holiday weekend but we got into all the stops. It was informative; I learned some of the history of Cebu/the Philippines. FYI: the reason for the dress code is because you can't get into the church in shorts or a tank top, so dress accordingly.

5.00This tour was a wonderful and memorable eye-opening experience. I only took the half-day tour since I booked it for the day my flight arrived; it still felt like a full-day experience! I highly recommend taking the Department of Tourism option as it gives you a personalised experience and you get a more thorough understanding of the history of Cebu compared to just reading information from exhibit labels. I got matched with Michelle and she was highly knowledgeable and also very personable. She answered questions with enthusiasm and she was genuinely attentive to what I was hoping to get out of the tour. Even though the tour had an itinerary it didn't feel at all like an 'on-rails' experience. The tour guide being a local really adds to the experience. You can discuss with them not only the history of Cebu, but also current affairs, the landmarks of the city, the developments over time, and notable events, among other things.
