What To Expect

Have you ever boarded down an active volcano? The experience starts with an off-road transfer from Leon city, followed by a one-hour hike to the top of the Cerro Negro volcano. On the way up, short informative stops are contemplated, shedding light on the history of the volcano, geology, the main crater and lava rock fields. Once at the top, safety instructions and a short practical training is given before starting the descent. An exciting and educational adventure altogether, and a thrilling Volcano Boarding experience!

It was ok but could have been in better in a few ways. first of all there was no information given on where to meet the guide or an office address in Leon. We had to call repeatedly to the phone number given on the voucher before we found someone who would even help us, then it took 3 more calls to get an address of the office in Leon where to start the tour.
The activity was good, the climb was not too strenuous and the guide did a good job of getting us to the top and taking lots of pictures of the group at the top on our slide down the slope.
The only thing is that as soon as we hit the bottom and all the fear was gone, all we wanted to do was go back up again but the tour only includes one run... It should include at least two or give the option to go again instead of putting the boards away. Know this I would not go again.
