5.00We went to Chania without any expectations. Our guide, George, led us through a set of curated experiences that showed how the rhythm of lives and civilizations continues through the centuries. He wove in his family history as we went through an olive mill and tasted the different grades of oils, walked through an Orthodox monastery and pondered our mortality at the ossuary, and wandered through the medieval old town by the bay watching families enjoy lunch by the waterfront. We left with a feeling of quiet delight, thankful for the opportunity to see this beautiful part of the world, and for the privilege of meeting a new friend who generously opened a window into this timeless culture. Bravo, George! We hope to see you soon!

5.00I have to say that we didn’t have high expectations for Crete when we were visiting such islands as Santorini. But, thanks to George, it became our favorite because of all the interesting places he had us visit- an olive oil processing plant, a most interesting monastery with a wine and olive oil tasting and a delicious, authentic Greek meal. He knows his island and tailors his tours to his group plus a very nice guy!

We were so grateful! George was knowledgeable and thorough in providing information about our tour sites. He was friendly and accommodating. His van was immaculate. 5.00Our brilliant guide George packed our tour with panoramic vistas, excellent olive oil tasting (Pallada Olive Mill), a visit to a historic monastery and a seaside stroll through Chaina’s old town. Top it off with a delicious seafood meal and wine and it was a perfect day. George spoke with a deep knowledge and passion for Crete and its amazing history. His English was excellent as was his driving. I would highly recommend his tours.

5.00What a fantastic day we had with George. As we were arriving by cruise ship, he called the day before to confirm which port we were arriving in. As it turned out, I had booked the tour from the wrong port and George drove two hours to arrange an alternate tour for us. We started the day with an Olive oil tasting at Pallada. We learned so much about olive oil from harvesting to the different varieties. From there we went to a 16th century monastery which was lovely and so great to see. While driving George shared lots of information about the history of the island and stopped at many beautiful viewpoints along the way. We ended the day with a visit to Chania’s old town where we strolled along the waterfront and explored the hidden streets. We stopped at a local taverna where we had a delicious lunch offering lots of authentic dishes. Our group would not hesitate to recommend George for a guided, personalized tour of this lovely island.

Along the drive, we heard just the right amount of stories and insights about Crete, always delivered in a way that made the island come alive without ever feeling overwhelming. Wandering through Chania’s Old Town was a joy, full of hidden corners and history, and the lunch right by the Venetian Harbor was simply unforgettable. 5.00We had an outstanding time with our host George! He struck the perfect balance—professional, reliable, and at the same time approachable and easygoing. On the drive to Chania, he kept us entertained with stories, sharp insights, and even quick-fire quizzes that turned the journey into part of the adventure. The highlight, though, was Chania itself. The Old Town is simply mesmerizing—its Venetian harbor, the maze of narrow cobblestone streets, the blend of Venetian and Ottoman architecture—it all felt like stepping into a living history book. And to top it off, we had an unforgettable lunch in a traditional taverna that hit the spot. Highly recommended!
