Not your average Chobe safari.

Our Chobe Sunrise Leopard & Lion Safari is crafted for true wildlife lovers who know that the bush comes alive before the world wakes up. While most visitors arrive later in the morning, we cross into Botswana at dawn, giving you exclusive access to the park at the prime hunting hour — when leopards and lions are still active and the light is golden.

This tour avoids the heat and crowds of midday safaris. It’s a focused experience, guided by experts who know where the predators roam and how to track them. We serve light breakfast i the bush with coffee or tea and non-alcoholic drinks. You’ll be back in Victoria Falls by 11:30 AM, just in time for lunch — with your memory card full and your heart still filled with fresh memories.

If you’re after quality over quantity, fewer jeeps, and a real chance to see big cats on the move, this is the safari for you.

Chobe National Park

Rise with the wild. Our Chobe Sunrise Safari sets off before dawn from Victoria Falls, crossing into Botswana just in time for first light—the prime hour for spotting leopards and lions as they patrol, hunt, or return to rest. This exclusive early morning game drive focuses on finding Chobe’s elusive predators, but along the way, expect sightings of elephants, buffalo, antelope, and birdlife awakening with the sun. We provide snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to keep you refreshed as you explore. You’ll be back in Victoria Falls by around 11:30 AM, just in time for lunch and full of stories. A perfect option for those who want big game action without a full-day safari. Limited seats – intimate groups. Real adventure begins before breakfast.

As keen photographers, we wanted an early sunrise pick-up so we could look for and track down cats. We contacted Savannah Adventures and were pleased to find out they offer this tour. They instantly responded to our request, and the pick-up was right on time with a clean, comfortable van. We saw all the cats we hoped for, and the entire experience was absolutely exquisite. I strongly recommend them!

I really don’t get the negative review about this tour — we did the exact same early morning safari with Savannah Adventures, and it was absolutely brilliant! We joined because it starts before sunrise, just like it says, to catch the big cats when they’re active — and we did! We saw lions and even a leopard, which was the absolute highlight of our trip. That’s exactly what we came for — the cats, not a buffet. Breakfast came after the leopard sighting, exactly as described — a simple, light breakfast which was perfect after such an incredible morning. Everything was clearly communicated, and the focus was on what really matters: wildlife, adventure, and being out there when nature awakens. Massive heads-up to Eddy, Matt, and the whole Savannah Adventures team — you and your guides do a great job. Some people are just impossible to satisfy, no matter how well things are done. For us, it was real, raw Africa at its best — authentic, honest, and unforgettable. Keep doing what you do; for true safari lovers, this is exactly how it should be!

Do not waste your money on this so-called “Chobe Sunrise Leopard and Lion Safari Trekking.” Honestly, it felt like a complete scam. I paid $550 AUD and got nothing close to what was advertised. First off — there was nothing “sunrise” about it. By the time we actually got to the park, the sun was already blazing. The itinerary promised a magical first-light drive during prime hunting hours. What we got was full daylight and a very standard safari. The “light bush breakfast”? A couple ginger snap biscuits. That’s it. Not even enough for a toddler just weaned off soft foods. We spent the whole morning hungry and cranky. If I’d known, I’d have packed my own food or, better yet, booked with another company. And don’t get me started on the vehicle. It was ancient. No side mirrors, no working speedo, no fuel gauge, nothing on the dash worked. It clunked so loudly a leopard could’ve heard us from Victoria Falls and bolted. As for the “exclusive leopard and lion trekking,” that was a joke. When we found lions, there were at least 20 other safari vehicles parked around them. Same with the leopard. You’d see the exact same thing on a standard full-day Chobe safari — for half the price and double the time. The only saving graces were Eddie, our pick-up driver (absolute gem), and our safari guide, who genuinely went above and beyond to find us a leopard. For that, I’ll give one star. Everything else? A rip-off. Save your money and book a regular Chobe safari instead.
