The stop nearest our hotel was closed. Stops took an average 15 minutes each and not close to the areas of interest.

It was informative and easy to hop on hop off. We found the live tracker useful to see where the buses were when we wanted to hop back on. It is no good complaining about the Traffic as in Rome do what the Romans do. Have patience! We enjoyed it and seen many places on the outer areas that we would never have walked too. So for us we are giving the trip a five star rating. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Driver very pleasant.

Here's the real truth about hop on and off bus tours in Rome. It doesn't really matter WHICH tour you take as they will be essentially the same, with some offering more frequent buses and others offering multiple routes. If you are thinking this will be an efficient way to see the sights because you have limited time, you need to readjust and plan over. With the traffic in Rome and the infrequent buses you will quite likely end up frustrated and anxious. AND the info you expect to get from the audio "tour guide" is laughably non informative. (85% of the time you are listening to a loop of classical music that you rapidly will get tired of listening to). Also, the audio frequently doesn't synch with where you are and is not that informative to begin with. Use google photo to find out what you are looking at or download one of a zillion walking tours or informative pod casts telling you about rome and its history (Rick Steves has a bunch) You will be MUCH happier either taking taxis (or with a very little of minimal advance planning taking the subways or trolleys). Having spent hundreds (and likely thousands) of $$ on a trip to Italy, now is not the time to save on taxis and take a $25 tour bus. It simply isn't' worth it. You just don't have the time to wait for buses etc. OH and also, the drop off points are often a 10 minute walk away from the sights (20 minutes if you want to go to the Vatican! so not that convenient for folks with walking issues) That is not to say you should NEVER fork over the cash for this type of trip. if you have several days and you have seen the coliseum, the Vatican, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi fountain then 25 Euros for a two hour drive around Rome is a pleasant way to spend a morning or afternoon. City Sightseeing tour top level had a shade covering the entire top of the bus which was a real plus (and not something the other tour buses i saw had). Oh and one last point. DO NOT think that you will avail your self of the multiple routes (unless you buy a multi day pass). The two routs are duplicative about 60% of the stops and you just will not have the energy to go on another route the same day. If you do book on City Sightseeing skip the red line and go with the yellow. You will see everything on the red and then some more. Good luck, ps. if you are the tour operator and you actually read reviews, instead of filling the dead time in traffic with annoying muzak have some informative info you can share about rome in general. doesn't have to synch with where you are.

Very few buses compared to other tour operators. We waited at two stops for over 20 minutes while watching other operators buses come and go. They also skipped a stop so missed part of our tour. Do not use City Sightseeing buses in Rome, go with the Big Bus instead

Beautiful view of the city. Could not see most of the main attractions from the bus. Colosseum stop was closed. Approximately 30 minute walk

Worst schedule. They only come about every 45 min to one hour. All the other providers, the pink, yellow, green and BigBus providers come three to four times as often. We were better off just walking. Used the bus only twice that day. The BigBus is clearly the best

Can't fault City Sightseeing but the idea of the bus in Rome is really not worth it. The main sights are all within areas this bus cannot reach and very walkable even with my arthritis. Also the day we booked was the 2026 Marathon and was even less to see. The way the tour is given is also very dated

It was great. There were fewer stops because of construction, but got to see what we wanted to see. Just be sure you get the right ticket to get on and off as ours didn’t allow it.
