Thankful to have had this experience of a lifetime! This hike rates one of the best I have been on, and I am grateful for great organisation and thoughtfulness, that helped build the stories and experience, into a very meaningful culmination at Machu Picchu. Thank you Panaka Travel!

  • Lizandro is an amazing guide!

My husband and I had Lizandro as our guide and we had an amazing time thanks to him. We really enjoyed his style of tour guiding. He kept us company along the way but also gave us time to explore independently, while making sure that we're safe. He provided information about the trail, nature, culture, history, food, and answered all our questions, from the logistics of the trek, tour companies, and porters to Incan architecture and Cusco recommendations for food and massages. Lizandro has over 25 years of experience and it definitely shows. He gave us tips and advice that I feel like other groups we saw didn't get. He knows all the great (and less crowded) spots for amazing photos. He also has an eye for photography and took perfectly framed photos for us as well. He's very knowledgeable and we felt that we got so much out of our experience because we had an amazing tour guide like him. I can't recommend Lizandro enough!

We enjoyed the classic Inca Trail a lot. Great organization and a fantastic guide - Lizandro. He was very experienced and knowledgeable about Inca history, culture, local environment and habits and could answer all our questions. If we ever come back to do more trekking in the Andes, we would certainly choose Panaka travel and Lizando again.

My tour on the Inca Trail was one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of my life. What made it even better was having a guide like Lizandro who shared a tremendous wealth of knowledge about the Inca history, all while having a sense of humor and genuine warmth in his personality. Lizandro and his crew are top notch professionals who will ensure the time of your life.

  • Thank you Lizandro

Our experience with Panaka Travel was unbeatable from start to finish. The organization was excellent throughout, but what really made the trip special was having Lizandro as a guide. Lizandro proved to be a great professional: always attentive, close and with a deep knowledge of the history and culture of Cusco. Their explanations were clear, interesting and added a lot of value to each place we visited. We made several excursions with him and they were all fantastic. One of the most outstanding was the Inca Trail, where thanks to its good planning and experience we were able to enjoy the route in a very special way, taking advantage of each section without hurry and better understanding the whole environment. In addition, throughout the trip he gave us very useful recommendations that further improved the experience. You can tell that he has experience and that he really involves himself in making everything go perfectly. I would recommend Panaka Travel without hesitation, and especially Lizandro, for anyone who wants to know Cusco in a well organized, enriching and different way.

Our experience with Panaka Travel has simply been exceptional. From the beginning, everything was perfectly organized and adapted to what we were looking for, but without a doubt what made the difference was our guide, Lizandro. Lizandro is a true professional: close, attentive and with an impressive knowledge of the history, culture and every corner of Cusco. His explanations were not only complete, but also very enjoyable, which made each visit even more interesting and enriching. We did several excursions with him, and they were all amazing, but I would especially highlight the visit to the Mountain of 7 Colors. Thanks to their planning and experience, we managed to get there from the first, avoiding the crowds and being able to enjoy the landscape calmly, something that really made a difference. In addition, his recommendations throughout the trip were always sound, from restaurants to practical tips to make the most of each day. You can tell that he is passionate about his work and that he really cares about travelers having the best experience possible. We definitely recommend Panaka Travel and especially Lizandro to anyone who wants to discover Cusco in an authentic, well organized and memorable way.

I just finished the 4 day / 3 night Inka Trail trek with Panaka. Their team gave me the most incredible experience. First of all, if you ever get the chance to do the Inka Trail - PLEASE do it. It was the best trek of my life, in large part because of Lizandro (my guide) and my chef and porters from Panaka. I saw stunning views, learned so much about the mountains, the plants, the animals, the Incas, and Peru. The food that Panaka made was extraordinary - I genuinely do not know how they managed to cook some of the things they made for me on the trail. I'm vegetarian, and chef Jhon managed to make me some of the best meals of my life in the middle of the mountains. My arrangements felt luxurious the entire time. These are really genuine, good people that want their guests to have an amazing experience. I cannot recommend Lizandro and Panaka enough.

  • Incredible service, the best time you can have on the Inca Trail

We did the 4 day classic Inca trail hike with Panaka travel, they are a newer company but have a lot of previous experience and all this combined meant they took care of us in great detail. Aldo was our guide on the trail, you couldn’t ask for a better one, he knew everything about not only the history but also the wildlife and nature he had an answer for all our questions. The porters were fantastic, it’s such a hard job but they always looked happy to be there, laughing with each other the whole time and always extremely polite to us. The chef and food were amazing, every meal and plate were different and to be honest better than most restaurants, I don’t know how they did it. They even made us a cake for our honeymoon up a mountain in the middle of nowhere, crazy. Lisandro the owner helped us before arriving in Peru and the whole time during with recommendations for anything we asked, he even picked us up and dropped us off from the airport. Everything was priced clearly and a bargain for what you get, they provide a detailed sheet beforehand which explains, the entire travel itinerary, what to expect, how to pack and advice on weather. These guys are the best that’s all you need to know.
