“Falcons road” on the Red Rocks of mt. Romanija is a secured climbing route. The length of this Via Ferrata is 350m. The star of this route being the two suspension bridges nested between the rocks with stunning background of pine and fir forest.

This adrenaline content will give those fond of adventure and extreme sports great excitement with maximum safety. There will be plenty of opportunities to make postcard-like photos of rocks with a stunning background of mountains surrounding Sarajevo.

The trip starts from Sarajevo, where we will pick you up. The drive is only 30 minutes, and the whole adventure will take 3 to 4 hours total. You can plan it as a half day adventure getaway from Sarajevo.

This trip is not for those suffering from acrophobia (extreme fear of heights).

What To Expect

The hardest and most rewarding via ferrata in Sarajevo area. This via ferrata takes you on the Red Rocks of mt. Romanija, just east of Sarajevo. Test your skills, and make amazing photos on the hanging bridges between the rocks. If you are not sure about this trip, you can test your skills on easy Trebević ferrata. (the two can be combined and be done in a single day.)

Trebević ferrata: Not sure Falcons road ferrata is for you? You can try your skills on the easier ferrata on mt. Trebević first.
Easier ferrata: Trebević ferrata is considerably easier, and is a great test if you don't have via ferrata or climbing experience.
Trebević: Instead of mt. Romanija, you would go to Trebević, olympic mountain just south of Sarajevo old town.

What an amazing climb! The scenery was absolutely stunning, with epic views that went on forever. Being out in nature was a great adventure, and the sunset was the perfect ending to the day. Highly recommend!

Adin and Kenan were our guides, and we had a blast! Honestly, out of the 7 weeks my friends and I are doing around Europe, this was definitely one of my most favourite activities! Gets the adrenaline running and you have so much fun, plus Mr Guide was very funny and Mr Instructor looked after us very well. Halfway through, they gave us snacks and filmed and got photos for us! Highly recommend this if you like serious rock climbing and anything that gets your heart racing!

This trip is a must if you love nature and to trying something different. For our first experience of trying a via ferrata, we felt safe and comfortable throughout the whole experience. The tour was a seamless day from start to finish with pick up & drop off from our accomodation, rental gear and snacks. We learnt so much about the area, history and nature. The views are amazing and the experience was underrated. Big thank you to our guide Kenan who made sure we had an unforgettable experience throughout. We hope to be back for another amazing experience of the beautiful nature of Bosnia.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Kenan was very professional as well as very friendly and knowledgeable about Sarajevo and it's surroundings, giving us some great recommendations about what to do for the rest of our trip. The Via Ferrata itself was beautiful and very fun, with some great picture spots, I would absolutely recommend this to all of my friends!

We did the falcons road via ferrata and it was amazing, our guide was very funny and knowledgable and even shared some foraging tips. The trip it’s self was perfect. The route being extremely fun and the view being stunning. If you are in Sarajevo and have a drive for excitement you must do this trip. I would also highly recommend highlander as a company they were super professional and had outstanding communication, especially once our trip concluded and they gave us some extra trips on where to go and what to see

Unreal experience, views were unmatched. Very passionate guide with an abundance of local knowledge which made the climb so much more interesting. Finishing the hike just in time for sunset was the cherry on top of an awesome afternoon.

A minimum number was needed, so my trip via viator was cancelled. I reached out to the company directly and organised to do a private tour with them. Eventually 2 friends joined aswell and we had an amazing time. It was timed just right so we got to see the amazing sunset at the end too (and it wasn't too hot at the end of the day). It wasn't hard. As long as you aren't afraid of heights, you'll be fine. Our guide was lovely too ans he had a lot of knowledge about bosnia and the area we were in Great experience in Sarajevo!

This was my first time at climbing, I was a bit nervous at first, big thanks to my excellent guide kenan I got over the nerves and relaxed. what a amazing experience it was, if you like active outdoors you will love this! Guaranteed. When you get up!! The views are breathtaking 👍

This was our first ever Via Ferrata experience, and it was unforgettable. A big thank you to our guide Kenan, who was patient and encouraging, and kept treating us with chocolates! :) The Via Ferrata on Trebevic Mountain is beginner friendly. For somebody like me - unathletic and with average fitness levels - the Ferrata had some tricky parts, but Kenan expertly guided me through and even climbed back to help me whenever I felt stuck. Since we were only the two of us (my husband and I), Kenan planned our climb for us to watch the sunset on top of the mountain. The views were absolutely insane. A perfect reward! Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience the Via Ferrata for the first time! It's safe and leaves you with a sense of accomplishment.
