Fly over the stunning sights of East and West Maui. This exciting flight takes you to the North East rim of the Haleakala dormant volcano crater, above the East Maui Rainforest to view the waterfalls and coastline then crosses over to the West Maui rainforest. Includes narration from a professional pilot-guide.

Weight restrictions: For a single passenger booking weighing 240lbs or more, a combined weight (2 passengers) of 420lbs or more or for groups of 3 or more an average weight of 200lbs or more an additional seat must be purchased at the time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers on board.

We ask that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour

All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter

Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.

Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot on each tour.

No bags allowed on board. This includes a purse, fanny pack, backpack, etc.

Customers must pay for parking with the QR code at the entrance of the heliport. We have the QR code in our office as well. CREDIT CARD ONLY.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului Heliport and hop aboard a luxury, air-conditioned helicopter, which holds six passengers in forward-facing leather seats. Once you’re airborne, sit back and listen to stereo music and descriptive narration from the professional pilot, who also serves as your tour guide.

Haleakala Crater

Throughout the 1-hour flight, enjoy unobstructed views while you soar above Maui’s extreme landscapes, including the dense Hana Rainforest of East Maui. Look down on waterfalls and the jaw-dropping Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano with a summit reaching more than 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) above sea level in Haleakala National Park.

Staff was extremely organized and friendly. Pilot Kirk was extremely entertaining, personable and gave a great tutorial of the beautiful island. The music that goes with the tour is perfect. It’s a must if visiting Maui!

The best way to see the island!! This is our first time in Hawaii. We knew we wouldn't get to do and see everything during this trip, so we decided to see as much as possible from the air! The staff and crew at Air Maui were amazing. Our pilot, Dylan, did such a great job explaining the sites and history of Maui. I can't recommend this company and excursion enough!!!

Obviously weather plays a factor in this tour. We had an auditable the morning of because of the weather but we did get to see numerous waterfalls on Molokai. Drew, the pilot was great and narrated the tour with just enough info. Not overloading us with history or info. The helicopter is seated by weight since weight & balance is critical in aircraft. If you don’t get a window seat, the pilot does a very good job in balancing out the views so it’s not always shown in one side. Wear dark colored clothes so you don’t reflect on the windows, this eliminates you showing up in the photograph unintentionally. The ride was smooth and music was playing in the background while inflight. I’d suggest doing this early in your visit to get a good sense of island and topo as well as where you may want to visit in your trip.

The tour was well run and the pilot was full of great information about Maui. He flew very gently and the views were amazing. Only way to see the wall of tears! Would recommend, but don’t forget the Dramamine if prone to motion sickness.
