This is much more than a cooking class. What makes this experience unique is the opportunity to discover the complete journey of food, from the field to the table, on a working organic farm. Before cooking, guests take part in an educational workshop on ancient grains, learning how wheat is transformed into flour through traditional methods and why these heritage varieties are so important to local culture and sustainable agriculture.

The experience takes place in our historic farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, offering breathtaking countryside views and a truly authentic atmosphere. All recipes are inspired by local traditions and prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown directly on our farm.

Rather than a commercial cooking school, this is a personal experience hosted by our family, where guests are welcomed as friends, share stories, and enjoy the meal they have prepared together

What To Expect

Step into our historic farmhouse, Podere Lesignano, surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves, for an authentic hands-on cooking experience in the heart of San Marino. Your experience begins with a guided tour of our family farm, where you'll discover the history of our estate and learn about the organic products we grow and produce. We will then take part in a hands-on educational workshop on ancient grains, where you'll learn how flour is traditionally made, following the journey from wheat spike to flour. You'll discover different types of flour and the importance of ancient grain varieties in local food culture. After the workshop, we will move to our panoramic terrace, where you'll join a fun and informal cooking class, preparing traditional homemade dishes such as fresh tagliatelle or ravioli, delicious sauces including classic ragù, and a typical dessert from the local farming tradition At the end of the class, we'll sit down together to enjoy the meal we've prepared, accompanied by a glass of our own Sangiovese wine. More than a cooking class, this is an opportunity to experience the authentic flavors, traditions, and hospitality of rural San Marino.

    We had a fantastic time making tagliatelle pasta, a bolognese sauce, and a traditional dessert - all from scratch - with our wonderful host and chef Matteo. Wonderful wine and antipasto were served, and the bucolic countryside setting made this an unforgettable experience.

    Honestly, if you're in San Marino and looking for something to do besides the citta, do this!! We booked a cooking class but it turned into something way better. Matteo cooked with us, cracked jokes, told us about himself and his family and the farm. By the end it felt less like a class with a GREAT view and more like hanging out with a friend who happens to be a great cook. The best part was that we got the whole thing start to finish. He showed us the wheat they actually grow, we tried grinding the flour ourselves, and then made the dough from that same flour. Sounds simple but it really got to me, you don't get to touch anything that real living in a city. The views from the farm are gorgeous, the place is beautiful, and the food was amazing. Tasted even better knowing we'd made it. We already want to bring our friends. Thank you Matteo and your family, this was one of our favourite evening!

    I participated in the cooking class at the Lesignano estate and can only give it 5 stars! Warmly welcomed by Matteo, we learned to prepare the real tagliatelle, just like they used to make them. The extra touch is the wonderful view of the Sammarinese hill, among vineyards and olive trees. The atmosphere is informal, fun, and you feel right at home. After cooking, we enjoyed everything we had prepared, accompanied by a tasting of their organic products and a great glass of Sangiovese. Highly recommended for those who want to take home not just a recipe, but a piece of the local culture. I recommend it!

    An authentic, fun, and very relaxing experience! There is nothing better than making pasta and sauce by hand, surrounded by greenery among vineyards, olive groves, and farm animals. Matteo, who welcomed us, is very kind and helpful, and also well-prepared. You can see the attention to detail, and the overall experience is truly excellent. You can breathe an atmosphere that takes you back in time, and it is a special opportunity to recover "ancient" knowledge that is now almost forgotten! Moreover, everything is accompanied by Mount San Marino, which serves as a backdrop to this magnificent cooking class!! My girlfriend and I highly recommend this experience, best wishes!!

    We were doing the Pasta making course with Matteo and it was anazong! We used the grain the grow thenselves in their Farm and you could taste thevdifference. Matteo was also very helpfull and we had a fun time. The Farm ist also very beautifull and the animals very cute.
