We had an amazing experience with Jesus for this cooking class! My husband has a dairy allergy and he was very accommodating. In fact, my husband probably would have never been able to try papas a la huancaina while in Peru if not for Jesus. You could really tell that Jesus is not only an experienced chef, but also cares deeply about providing an exceptional customer experience. We got to spend all our time on the fun part (cooking the meat, shaking the drinks, etc.) and no time on the not-so-fun parts of cooking; cutting onions, boiling potatoes, cleanup. I especially enjoyed the market tour, which I wasn't really expecting to be a highlight. He walked us around the market and explained key elements of Peruvian culture and cuisine. Even more than that, he allowed us to create some of our own experience - we got to try different fruits and decide which to use in our drink, try various chocolates, etc. We enjoyed it so much that we actually went back the next day to do souvenir shopping - much cheaper than the spots on the Plaza! We've done other cooking classes while abroad in the past that were really fun, but didn't actually teach us enough so that we could then recreate the dishes back home. With Jesus, I really felt like we learned enough to be able to make these dishes on our own. My husband and I are already planning to have friends over for drinks to show off our new Pisco Sour making skills!

What a wonderful experience. We did the market visit and the cooking class. Jesus, the chef was very cheerful and had a lot to tell about the different kinds of Peruvian fruits and cheeses at the market. The dishes were very tasteful and easy to make. The place was spotless clean, thanks to Carlos. What a nice family run class!

Chef Jesus explains how to prepare Pisco sour, papas alla huancaina and lomo saltado. Very good pisco, potatoes a surprise and lomo saltado was better than what I ate at the restaurant. Explanations in English are clear and recipes are provided.
