What To Expect
Jewish Museum Curacao
*Participants needs show foto ID to enter the Jewish Museum Curaçao. * The Mikve Israel-Emmanuel, consecrated in 1732. Mikve Israel, is the oldest synagogue building still standing and in continious use in the Wesntern Hemisphere. Jewish Museum Curaçao, tell the story from the Jewish community since their arrival in 1651 and the new addition of WWII exhibition with Curaçao native war hero George Maduro and Anne Frank. The Giftshop has a variety of cards, books, souvenirs that celebrate the Jewish life and history of Curaçao.
Mongui Maduro Historic House Museum
The early 19th century plantation house, Landhuis Rooi Catootje, one of Curaçao's historical monuments, houses a museum which displays antique furniture as well as many historic and unique objects. Each section contains special, permanent exhibits of the memorabilia of the Mongui Maduro family.

5.00Our guide for the day was Ralph Luidens. He is the friendliest, most hospitable man I have ever met on a vacation. We booked a tour for 3 couples and he was accommodating to increase the tour from 4 to 6 passengers. He allowed us to change the start time. He stayed in touch with me throughout the planning process. Just a pleasure to deal with. The tour was informative and he didn’t rush us from place to place. He knew the history and made the trip very interesting. No matter the tour, I recommend you try to find Ralph as your taxi/tour guide.

5.00Ralph was very knowledgable- and entertaining. One of the best Trip Advisor supported tours we’ve ever been on. Transportation was comfortable and driving excellent. Ralph even went with us and assisted us within those places that had automated tours. And allowed plenty of time to view the exhibits at the sites. Highly recommended!!!!!!

5.00Ralph was extremely knowledgeable! He took us around to see and experience some of the Jewish history of the island! We were visiting the island to celebrate our daughter's recent Bat Mitzvah. He showed us some of the history on the island, showed us historical sites and took us to two museums. Our favorite was the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue with the attached Jewish Museum. If you are interested in some history of the island this is tour is must!

5.00Ralph was an excellent tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the island and knows the history of the Jews on Curaçao going back to the 1600’s. From the cemetery, the distillery, the museum and the synagogue, he knows it all. We even had an opportunity to meet the rabbi who showed a genuine interest in us as guests to the island. I strongly recommend anyone who has an interest in Curaçao and the influence of the Jewish people to book this tour. It was well worth the time and money.
