With its wonderful symmetrical shape, it is an excellence stratovolcano, translated from Quichua into Spanish as the neck of the moon. Laguna Quilotoa
In the countryside of Latacunga city, in the Cotopaxi province. We can find the crystal green lagoon of Quilotoa with its ring-shaped. Separating from the Panamericana Highway, the road is curving at the beginning to get to the Paramo Andino. On one side to the other the beautiful patchworks of potatoes, onions, barley, and other crops are appearing; some sheep, llamas, and alcapas peacefully sooner come. Along the way to the lagoon, some villages, and small towns, of Kichua people are offering ancient art paintings from Julio Toaquiza and his generation; in Tigua, wooden masks too. In Zumbahua a nice market will occur every Saturday, where the vendors are coming from the mountains to the main plaza. Guinea pigs, groceries, local products, and fruits from the coastal region are easy to find.
Banos
Baños enjoys a subtropical and warm climate, located in a small plateau of the Ecuadorian Andes. Its altitude 1820 meters above sea level (5.971 ft.), surrounded by green mountains and waterfalls. The thermal baths give the name to the town. Baños offers great opportunities for outdoor activities such as cycling, canyoning, zip-lining, rafting, hiking, bungee jumping, and horse-riding, that`s why is one of the most visited destinations in Ecuador. Although the unpredictable condition of the Mama Tungurahua volcano towering above the town, the volcano's unpredictability is something of a draw in itself, with tourists flocking to high vantage points on cloudless nights to watch it spit lava and rocks into the sky like fireworks.

I had an incredible experience on the full-day tour to Cotopaxi National Park and Quilotoa Lagoon. Without a doubt, one of the best tours I've ever taken. Our guide, Rasu, made all the difference. His English is excellent, which greatly facilitated communication throughout the tour. He was also very kind, attentive, and always willing to help us. What stood out most was his extensive knowledge: he not only explained geographical and natural details of the places, but also shared interesting and representative Andean beliefs with us, making the experience much more enriching and authentic. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience these destinations in a comprehensive, culturally enriching, and well-guided way. An unforgettable experience!

I really enjoyed this experience; it was a beautiful and well-organized trip. The planning was evident from the start, which made everything flow smoothly. The destinations we visited were incredible, especially Cotopaxi, which has a spectacular view, and Baños, which has a very pleasant atmosphere. The guide, Andrés Collaguazo, made everything even better. He was very knowledgeable and explained things clearly, without being tedious or boring. He also managed the group very well, always with a positive attitude, answering questions, and making sure everyone was comfortable and on time. It was a really cool experience; I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I really enjoyed the tour. Andrés, our guide, was excellent, he gave us all really useful information. He even provided the info in English and, if any of us didn’t understand, he translated it into Spanish. Any question that came to my mind, he was happy to answer. He also did some fun activities to help the group loosen up and get to know each other, which showed he really cares about the details and knows how to manage a group. Thanks to his sharp eye, we were able to stop and see Cotopaxi before it got cloudy. I really liked Banos, the rest of the group and I had a great time and tried the famous Swing at the End of the World. Everyone was joking around, and the guide joined right in on the fun. At Devil's Cauldron, the waterfall was absolutely amazing, incredible to see in person. All in all, the Cotopaxi–Banos tour had plenty of laughs and photos. I honestly have no complaints. I felt great being part of it all and experiencing something new.

Taking this tour was an incredible experience. Our guide, Rasu, was very friendly and cheerful from the start, making our trip very comfortable. All the information he shared with us was interesting and gave us a deeper understanding of Ecuador. Throughout the entire journey to our destination, Cotopaxi National Park, Rasu kept us engaged the whole time—there was always an interesting fact to share. Our visit continued to Limpiopungo Lagoon, a beautiful place, like a mirror of water, where the mountains were clearly reflected, and all around there was a rich biodiversity of plants and birds—a peaceful and relaxing place that I would definitely return to without hesitation. We continued on to Quilotoa Lagoon, and along the way, it was incredible to see the countryside and the communities and learn about their culture. We made a short stop at Toachi Canyon, an incredible place. As we neared our destination, we enjoyed our lunch; they served us a delicious meal made with ingredients native to Ecuador. We finally arrived at Quilotoa Lagoon, a place that took my breath away. It’s incredible to see a body of water nestled inside a crater, and the colors that stand out there—it’s undoubtedly an incredible place. To wrap up our tour, our final stop was at an Andean cabin, where we were welcomed by María, a friendly local. She spoke to us in both Quichua and Spanish and introduced us to more Ecuadorian products. We saw potatoes, barley, corn, beans, and other crops. We visited their animals, including alpacas, guinea pigs, and rabbits; it was a wonderful visit. Finally, we returned to Quito, where our guide dropped us off safely at the hotel.

We had an amazing trip to Cotopaxi, Quilotoa and Baños with Pedro as our guide. We were treated to glimpses of Cotopaxi and hiked to the Refugio. The hike around the lagoon in the park was a highlight, with many bird sightings. The overnight at Cienegas hotel was quiet and restorative after the bustle of Quito, and the food was the best! The drive to Quilotoa crater offered offered spectacular highland scenery with llamas, crops and people working the fields with hand tools. For those who appreciate art, I recommend stopping at the Tigua village to see the hide paintings., which I read about later and regretted missing. The waterfalls in Baños were spectacular. Pedro offered great service in driving and his knowledge of birds and flora, and made great use of technology to identify species. Muchas gracias to real dreams and Pedro!

My guide Pedro was very knowledgeable and thoughtful and was able to cater the trip around my experience level and interests. The Hacienda Cienga was awesome and it was fun spending a night in Banos. We took 4 tours with Real Dreams, all of which were perfect! We visited Baños, took a City Tour in Quito, took a bike ride to the foot of Cotopaxi and even went to Quilotoa. The guides we met - Carol, Pedro and Davi - were simply sensational: kind, polite, helpful and always showing a lot of knowledge about everything they showed us. The cars used on the tours were also very comfortable, new and spacious. When we return to Quito, we will certainly look for Real Dreams to live new experiences! We highly recommend it!!!

I booked this break as part of a longer set of Ecuadorian adventures, and would thoroughly recommend it! It was a wonderful experience, starting from Quito and taking in a whole range of memorable sights and experiences. I was lucky enough to travel solo and be accompanied by a single kind and hugely knowledgable guide, Pedro. We visited sites such as as the famous Swing at the Edge of the World, the shops and spas of Banos, the stunning Quilotoa Lagoon, and a succession of beautiful waterfalls culminating in the famous Pailon Del Diablo as well as Cotopaxi. Pedro was a superb guide, thoughtful and generous: it was soon apparent that he loved the work of showing off his country's great sights, and there was precious little about either its natural or its human history on which he was not an eloquent and kindly authority. As a result, I came away not merely with a bundle of tourist experiences, but also with some sense of how the various aspects of Ecuador's natural history and culture came together to form a whole, and felt enriched all the more for that. This is an excellent tour presented by a truly dedicated and caring guide, and is a wonderful introduction to this spectacular, complex and fascinating country, as well as to the lovely people who populate it.

Fantastic three day trip to experience a few highlights in the Andes outside of the big cities. Quilotoa with it’s emerald colored lagoon was breathtaking. Baños was great fun with adventure activities such as Extreme Swing and zip lining; and visits to amazing waterfalls. Cotopaxi National Park offers spectacular views of the volcano and opportunity to hike up to the base camp (very demanding but rewarding for those not acclimated to high elevation hikes). Overall a tremendous tour with a great guide (Pedro). Pedro was knowledgeable and a welcoming ambassador. He shared his beautiful country and his attitude added to the experience.
