What To Expect

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique for restoring broken pottery using gold and silver colors. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to revive broken pottery and turn it into a one-of-a-kind treasure. No experience is necessary, and a friendly instructor will guide you step by step. You will take home a beautifully renewed piece of work that you have made yourself. This class incorporates traditional Kintsugi techniques but is a shortened version that anyone can easily enjoy. You will have the unique experience of breathing new life into a broken piece of pottery. However, since the work created in this experience is a simplified version, it cannot be used for eating or drinking, but it is perfect as interior art that you can enjoy as a decoration or an accessory tray. The pottery that you restored and designed yourself will become a special one-of-a-kind item, and by displaying it in your home or office, it will become a wonderful art piece that will decorate your space! Mindfulness By immersing yourself in the process of Kintsugi, you can calm your mind and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We had a lovely few hours learning the art & history of Kintsugi, how to mend broken pieces of pottery. This was a fun activity and the ladies were lovely and patient and then we got to take our piece home which will always be a lovely reminder of our time in Okinawa.

Even with no artistic talent, it was easy to do with the guidance of the teachers. I had a great time, and walked out with a unique, hand-made souvenir. I would absolutely suggest this if you have even a passing interest in this kind of thing.

We had the best time. We repaired a piece of pottery and learned about the history and the journey of broken pottery. It may get broken, as in many things in life. However, the journey continues!

We really enjoyed our experience. The two ladies that worked with us were so nice and made it such an enjoyable experience. They walk you through everything step by step and tell you how the normal process works. We were so pleased with how our pottery turned out! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has 2 hours to do this experience.
