5.00Marinos was everything we hope for in a tour guide! Knowledgeable, genuine, friendly and fun! We are 4 science and food oriented friends who have traveled extensively, but never to Crete. I organized the tour through "Tours by Locals", which made looking through lots of options and communicating directly with the guide in advance very easy. He worked with us to adjust the day to meet our interests and was completely patient and considerate every step of the way. He also arranged a private guide for Knossos, which was important to us, and she (Marina) was also excellent! The olive oil farm and raki distillery we visited were off the beaten path and clearly personal connections, and the people and products were wonderful! We also experienced a nice assortment of Cretan wines, with my favorite a Syrah that paired perfectly with chocolate! I highly recommend Marinos for anyone interested in an authentic exploration of Crete!

5.00Marinos (our guide and driver) was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and the history, a good driver, and a joy to be around for the day. We were traveling with a larger group (5) so we filled the van and had a private tour. He listened to some of our questions on the drive and pivoted to a different Olive Oil factory based on our interests, which was great. Wine tasting was a nice spot, but is a break in a long day rather than the focus - fine for us but worth a call out. Knossos had a different guide - also called Marinos - who was a total character. Loved this tour and highly recommend! They also organized a sunset sail for us that was great as well.

5.00Our tour was fantastic. First the basics. Ours was a private tour and our group size was 7 family members - all adults. We were picked up promptly at 9:30 in the morning, and we returned, happy and completely satisfied around 5:30pm. We were driven in a modern 7-passenger van that was extremely comfortable. There were two main events for the day - a guided tour of the Minoan Palace at Knossos, and a visit to a local winery for a tour and wine tasting. But an equal highlight was just being with our driver (and owner of Unique Crete VIP Tours) Marinos. The largest single chunk of time for the day was riding with him, and it was a wonderful experience. First of all he’s a great driver. Some of the roads in Crete are narrow and winding with much change in elevation. He handled them expertly. Secondly, Marinos is an absolute font of knowledge about Crete. It was really quite remarkable. Every place we drove we got an education on history, herbology, people, customs - you name it, Marinos knew about it. Advanced reservations are a must, but easy to set up. And even though we lucked out by having the company owner as our driver, this is not a one-person operation. I can recommend this business without qualification.

5.00Fabio was an amazing tour guide! He took us to your typical tourist spots, plus a few places that are considered off the beaten path. The tour last about 7 to 8 hours, but it's worth it. You will learn so much history! Highly recommended!

5.00Marinos was absolutely fantastic - we had such a great relaxing and fun time with him. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with great Greek historical facts - highly, highly recommend him for any of our future trips. He is fun and took us to many non-touristic places. We loved it.
