There is no photo that can really do justice to the contrasts I saw yesterday along the west coast of Corsica. The mini cruise that took me DA Porto to the Scandola Nature Reserve, Girolata inlet and finally the Calanques DE Piana was one of the most intense and visually hypnotic experiences of this trip. The Scandola Reserve seems to emerge DA another geological epoch, a primordial world where solidified lava plunges into the deep blue. Every wall, every crack, every color lit by the sun tells an ancient story, carved in silence. Then Girolata, a tiny village accessible only by sea or on foot, where time stands still. A handful of houses, a sleepy marina, and a stillness that gets in your bones. A place that reminds you how precious emptiness, slowness, silence are. Finally, the Calanques DE Piana, which are not only rock formations: they are a continuous sculpture, a natural cathedral suspended between sky and water. Going by boat is like going through a dream in fire red and cobalt blue. It was a day that is not easily forgotten. And if the images tell a part of the journey, the rest is kept in memory, the true one.

A great walk with explanations for each site. Despite the capricious weather and stormy seas, the captain adapted his driving to avoid DE big waves. + ponchos available in a small shower. Thank you and him and well done
