This tour was fantastic! The minute our guide, Edwel picked us up, it was off to a great start. He described everything along the way on the 2 hour drive. The Moholoholo wildlife rehab center gave us lots of information about how they receive the sick and injured animals and that their goal to reintroduce them back to the wild. The animals that are there were unable to be reintroduced as their injuries were to much for them to survive. After that we went to the Blyde River Canyon which is the 3rd largest canyon in the world. The scenery was spectacular. We also got to see the hippos very close. It was a wonderful day and highly recommended!

10/10 recommend this, especially if Heyn is you driver for the day. He was waiting for us early for pickup for our 1.5 hours drive to the Blyde Dam. Along the way we learned so much and had great conversation. The cruise itself had fabulous views, and the guides were informative. We saw a water monitor, crocodiles, hippo, and a snake on the rocks. After the cruise we had a fabulous lunch at a local spot (black chilli). Would go there again if we had time! It was excellent food and a little shop, plants for sale and some little rabbits and chickens. After lunch we went to the rehab center which was also very informative and what they are doing is excellent in rehabbing animals they can and keeping others safe that are unable. After the rehab center we headed back for the 1.5 hour drive with more great conversation and knowledge from Heyn. The trip itself was great and Heyn was the icing on the cake! Book this, you won’t be disappointed!

Adrian was our guide and he did a great job getting us to the Moholoholo Rehab Centre where we got to see so many animals and birds of the region. This is such a worthwhile effort to help save injured or orphaned animals and, if possible, return them to the wild. Adrian taught us a lot about many different things during the drive such as “peanut butter trees,” Marula, and mangoes. He stopped for us at the Ultimate Mango Shop where we bought a few fresh mangoes, dried mangoes, and other dried fruits dipped in chocolate. We had a delicious lunch at The Mad Dogz restaurant. Unfortunately, the boat trip wasn’t possible since the workers were on strike, but Adrian suggested two alternatives. We chose Elephant Whisperers and that was the highlight of our trip since you can touch the elephant (Timba) on its ears, stomach, tusks, and hug its leg! The staff take many pictures of you with Timba as you do these things at no extra charge!! It was a great day all around and we have Adrian to thank since he’s been a guide for many years and really knows the area.

Our driver, Edsel, was prompt and the van comfortably. He gave us lots of information about the area and it’s people on our drive to the canyon. This was a great day trip. The Blyde Canyon and boat cruise was breathtaking. The canyon is beautiful and so green. We saw three crocodiles and five hippos. The boat guide was very knowledgeable and we learned several things about the animals and canyon. After the boat trip we stopped for lunch at a local place. We then headed to Moholoho Animal Preserve. They work they are doing to rehabilitate animals and protect those that cannot go back to the wild is fantastic. We saw white lions, cheetahs, leopards, black Panther, and golden badgers. We have always enjoyed our tour booked through TripAdvisor but this was one of the best.

We did a Blyde Dam Boat Trip from Phalaborwa this is about a 45 minute drive to the parking lot of the boats. It is a great experience to sail through the canyon the trip takes about an hour and a half. There are great views and with a bit of luck you can also see the necessary wildlife. It is also nice to see the three rondavels from the boat. The tour cost about 15 euros per person but that is more than worth it. After the tour also go and have a look at the view point here are also several toilets and a kind of museum you can also do a picnic. We thought it was a very fun and educational tour and you should definitely do it if you have the time.

Informative, beautiful, picturesque, organised, professional, sad what humans do to animals but happy there are organisations who are caring for the injured & orphaned.

This delightful little sighting boat with its well-versed guide is a wonderful way to pass a few unforgettable hours seeing the incredible mountains from the gorgeous Swadini Dam. The light during the afternoon trip is beautiful and you'll get some worthy photos as well as learning a lot about the area.

We did this tour in June 2018, what an amazing experience. Our tour guide Jay was very clued up on all things happening in and around the area, he was also very patient with us and extremely accommodating. The Moholoholo tour was awesome, we got to touch the Cheetah which was absolutely amazing, the Blyde Dam Cruise was also breathtakingly beautiful, the tour guide on the boat was also very knowledgeable about the surroundings - I recommend this tour and hope to be able to do it again in a couple of years time. Thanks a million to Jay who made the tour well worth it.
