  • Amazing experience to start our vacation!

We arrived in Nelson/New Zealand to start our honeymoon the day before (mid-March 2025), so this was the first true full day AND excursion for the entire trip. It was an incredible experience and sure set the standard for the remainder of our stay. A lot of windy roads to reach Kaiteriteri Beach, but nonetheless, parking and finding the meetup spot was relatively easy. The check-in desk was very helpful with any questions/issues. Even though it was down-pouring at the very start of the morning, the cruise boat still operated on time and had comfortable seating. Our overall ride was about 45 minutes or so, but the navigator/host had excellent communication regarding the nearby sites, historical facts and where we were at in relation to everything. We were then dropped off at Anchorage Bay, where everyone was free to hike, explore or simply relax on the beach. We decided to explore the hiking route towards Cleopatra's Bay. It's a 1 hour uphill ascent (easy-mid level) and the breathtaking views/nature were absolutely worth it! Once we reached and returned from our hiking destination, we walked along the beach/shore, which was absolutely clean and beautiful (along with very sunny, comfortable weather by that point). Lastly, our giant group sailboat arrived, as we very slowly/casually made our way back to Kaiteriteri Beach. The staff on the boat were so friendly, nice and professional. Cookies & tea were provided, along with numerous places on the sailboat to kick back and relax. They even stopped at one bit to allow any passengers to jump in the water for a dip (best to wear your bathingsuit from the start, or at least a change of clothes). We arrived about 2 hours later then originally anticipating, but we had such a blast and no set plans afterwards anyway, so it didn't really matter. Reasonably priced for the experience and all the staff that crossed our path was excellent. Every tourist we met was also great company and a pleasure to be around. Lucked out with some magnificent weather after a rainy start too. If you're in the Nelson (-ish) area on vacation, I would highly recommend this expedition :)

The walk is way more strenuous than they advertise . Not leisurely at all! Mostly uphill but beautiful scenery.

  • Fun tour with multiple activities.

Informative water taxi ride up to Anchorage Bay - choose of hikes (Pitt Head Loop) and 3 hour catamaran sail back. Cat crew was great - took time to find some wind and talk with every passenger. Recommend this tour.

The first part is on the sea shuttle where there is a commentary which is very informative plus you see Split Rock up close and fur seals. The walk is easy to navigate and definitely worth walking to Pitt Head lookout first then dropping down to the most amazing beach for a swim in the turquoise waters!! It’s then only a short walk back to Anchorage to meet the catamaran. Inky our skipper and Claudia his assistant were superb and very knowledgeable! We did feel 37 people was slightly too many and as usual some people sat out front and didn’t move for the whole trip!! After stopping for a water fill up where you were able to have a quick swim, Inky got the sails up and we sailed nearly all the way back!! Abel Tasman was stunning and the whole trip was superb!

  • Nice and easy way to see the park..Combo for variety of activites

This was a nice way to see the park and do a little of everything. The company was professional and Marco and Claudia did a good job on the sailing segment of the trip. If this is something interesting for you, then I recommend this company.
