Disclaimer **For this tour, reservations will be assigned to seats or areas, some inside the cabin and some outside in the stern area. Please note that these seating areas are shared, and you will likely share the space with other customers. Cabin space aboard the vessel is limited. Seating assignments will be made based on the booking date, with priority given to groups accompanied by small children aged 4 to 11 years old, in consideration of USCG safety regulations. We advise passengers to come prepared for prolonged exposure to sunlight.**

What To Expect
East Island Excursions
After an approximate 50-minute cruise, you’ll arrive at a beautiful reef – Carlos Rosario or the Luis Peña underwater nature preserve – located just off Culebra’s western shore, where your crew will anchor for 1.5 hours of snorkeling fun followed by a light lunch. Then it’s just 20 minutes to a deserted Culebra beach off the beaten path, where you’ll spend the rest of the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, beachcombing or sunbathing. (Underwater cameras and sunscreen are available for purchase on board.) Your captain will decide which beach is best, depending on weather conditions that day – most likely stunning Flamenco or a half-mile long beach on Culebrita, a tiny islet of the east coast of Culebra with outstanding views of St Thomas.

3.00We booked the Snorkeling & Beach Tour to Culebra with East Island Excursions specifically because it was advertised as a catamaran snorkeling tour. That was the main reason we chose this excursion. The boat itself is beautiful and very clean. Most importantly, the crew was genuinely amazing — friendly, patient, and professional throughout the trip. They are the reason this review is 3 stars instead of lower. That said, the overall experience did not align with what we expected from a premium-priced catamaran excursion. We were instructed to be checked in and ready by 8:05 AM with an emphasis on prompt departure, yet passengers were still boarding after 9:05 AM. The boat was full, which is expected. However, outside seating was heavily restricted at departure, and guests were directed to interior picnic-style tables. It felt more structured and controlled than a typical catamaran experience. The top deck was only accessible when anchored, and only a small outdoor bench area (10 people max, out of the 68 allowed on board) was available while moving. We understand safety procedures, but the level of restriction made the experience feel far less open and enjoyable than anticipated. Several guests became seasick while seated inside. With the doors and windows closed for air conditioning, the cabin became uncomfortable and smelled of vomit. The snorkeling portion lasted approximately 25 minutes. For a 6-hour excursion marketed around snorkeling, this felt very limited and rushed. Had we known snorkeling time would be this short, we would have chosen a different tour. The beaches themselves were absolutely breathtaking and worth seeing. However, given the premium pricing and limited snorkeling time, we left feeling disappointed and wishing we had chosen a smaller, more snorkeling-focused company. It’s unfortunate to say we left feeling genuinely sad and disappointed by an experience we had been looking forward to for so long.

5.00This was my first time doing this type of activity. I didn’t get to do the snorkeling because I didn’t know we would be in water where we couldn’t stand. We weren’t by any land and I was afraid of being in water where I couldn’t retreat fast if a shark came near by. So I decided not to participate in that portion of the trip. We ate lunch and traveled to the beach where we did get out and enjoy the water. We had a good time. The boat was clean and the food was good. The crew took good care of us.

5.00We had a truly positive experience on our Culebra trip. The crew was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive throughout the day. Unfortunately, the boat experienced an engine issue, and after our first snorkeling stop we had to turn back, so we didn’t make it to Flamenco Beach. While this was obviously disappointing, the crew handled the situation exceptionally well. They clearly explained everything and gave us fair options: stay at a nearby island to enjoy the day with food and drinks plus a partial refund, or return to Fajardo with a full refund. Even though I personally preferred to stay and enjoy the beach, the majority voted to head back. Lunch and drinks were still served, and the crew remained apologetic, friendly, and entertaining the entire time. Most importantly, we received a full refund, which we genuinely appreciated — especially since we still had a fun day. Things happen, and what really matters is how a company responds. In our case, they did absolutely the right thing. Highly recommended — a wonderful crew and very professional service.

4.00Cpt Christopher and his crew were amazing! My only fallout is that this tour was more beach than snorkeling. We only stopped at one stop to snorkel and for about 30-40 minutes. It was fine but it felt more like a beach excursion than a snorkel excursion.

5.00What an incredible catamaran experience! From the moment you enter the gate at the harbor, you’re treated like royalty — the entire team makes you feel welcomed and taken care of right away. There’s even a coffee shop at the check-in area for anyone who needs a little caffeine boost before setting sail. The crew was extremely professional and clearly focused on both safety and exceptional service from start to finish. The lunch was delicious, the drinks were always flowing, and they’ll even bring your drinks right to you on the beach — talk about next-level hospitality. Every place we anchored was absolutely beautiful and felt like a postcard come to life. This is truly a can’t-miss experience and one of the highlights of my trip!

5.00Highly recommended! Weather had been rainy days leading up to our excursion, east island called to talk us through options and water conditions. We decided to stay the course despite being offered a refund or reschedule. The day ended up great- the spots we stopped were not crowded, the boat itself was clean and spacious for the amount of people, staff was friendly, lunch was delicious, music was good, and signage and parking were very clear. I’d struggle to find one thing to suggest for improvement!
